Saturday’s Top 250 Expo allowed over 100 prospects to compete against one another and in front of college coaches. I will be highlighting my top performers by position starting with the 2021 Point Guards. These prospects had a ton to gain as they have limited opportunities to compete in front of college coaches before the Winter. Take a look at the 7 guys that impressed.

[player_tooltip player_id="1041442" first="Jayden" last="Priddy"] (Botkins) 6’1- One of the most explosive players you will find, Priddy gave himself several opportunities to score with his quick dribbles and speed on the drive. Impressed me with a much improving passing game, connecting some flashy passes. Has solid shooting form, just couldn’t get his jump shots to fall on Saturday. Continues to be a target for NAIA guards and bound for a big Winter season.

Marty Zumbiel (Monroe) 5’10- Zumbiel was a very unknown prospect in terms of having exposure before this event, but he showed why he is deserving of being considered one of the event’s best 2021 PGs. High motor guard that keeps playing and has great quickness. Nice court awareness and knows to space the floor and open up opportunities for teammates. High level shooter that creates his own shots and can consistently hit.

[player_tooltip player_id="1041450" first="Jayden" last="Sims"] (Emmanuel Christian) 6’1- Sims has a ton of upside and excelled in multiple ways Saturday. A 6’1 slashing guard, Sims utilizes on-ball screens and really knows how to attack the rim with his speed. Overall a scrappy player, he has some serious bounce and can throw down dunks off penetration.

[player_tooltip player_id="1042161" first="Tyler" last="Montague"] (Butler) 6’0- I felt like Montague was one of the better shot creators on Saturday. Skilled enough to be considered a CG as well, Tyler does a nice job of using his dribble to create space on the jump shot. Quick crossover and even quicker release, the lefty can get hot with limited space available. Excels in catch-and-shoot situations and showed he could lead an offense at the point.

[player_tooltip player_id="805224" first="Camron" last="Gaston"] (Rossford) 5’10- Facilitator in the halfcourt. Gaston is a very unselfish player; giving teammates opportunities to score before attacking himself. Can play in either half or full court play. Very quick when pushing the tempo and attacks with a purpose. All over the floor defensively and covers a ton of space with his speed.

Jaden Owens (Troy) 6’1- Owens was another guard that impressed with his speed and handle of the basketball. Showed poise and confidence when handling the ball. Quick decision maker. Gets downhill quickly and tough to defend on the drive. Will need to work on his jump shot and consistently hitting shots to continue attracting college coaches attention.

[player_tooltip player_id="593930" first="Nate" last="Johnson"] (Lakota East) 6’4- Johnson was not as dominant as we have seen in the past, but still was one of the better PGs I saw. Possessing the size at 6’4 to be a Division I PG, Johnson also has unreal athleticism that again was on display Saturday. Physical and able to power through contact with his strong upper body. Capable of stealing a show with his offensive arsenal and incredible vertical.
