The Palmetto State has made great strides over the years in becoming a basketball state. The Palmetto State loves its football in the fall (This Covid-19 time now makes it a bit unusual). Lets take a look at a few players that do both sports from the wide receiver – wideout positions. Keep in mind I might of missed some kids here.

Jonathan Burns Jonathan Burns Jonathan Burns 6'4" | PF South Aiken | 2021 State SC – South Aiken HS – LMR Academy (pictured on the front)

Burns had a solid summer on the hardwood for the local team out of the Midlands. Burns does a bit of everything on the floor to help your team win games. Burns can play inside-out on the floor and isn’t afraid to get on the floor and sacrifice his body for a loose ball or taking a charge. Burns a wide receiver on Friday nights in the fall is back for his senior season in the western part of the Palmetto State.

Quez Lewis Quez Lewis Quez Lewis 5'8" | PG Johnsonville | 2021 State SC – Johnsonville HS – Big Shots

Lewis does a bit of everything for the Golden Flashes. Lewis a wide receiver patrols the back court for Head Coach Harris Avant during the basketball season. Lewis the Florence Morning News Player of the Year last season averaged 16.1 ppg and 4.3 assists last year. Lewis enters his senior season with 755 career points.

Tysean Osby Tysean Osby Tysean Osby 6'2" | SF Spring Valley | 2021 State SC – Spring Valley HS – SC Ballers Elite

Osby sports the Odell Beckham look and hair now. Osby is playing on the local Grassroots Circuit this summer with the SC Ballers Elite program and Head Coach Larry Jones. Osby a rangy guard is great transition and excels in attacking the rack.

Eriq Rice Eriq Rice Eriq Rice 6'2" | SG AC Flora | 2021 State SC – AC Flora HS – SC Kings

Rice plays wide receiver for the Falcons while last season coming off the bench for Head Coach Josh Staley. Rice had a few good outings the times Prep Hoops saw him play this summer with the SC Kings. Rice can knockdown the 3-ball or play aggressive away from the ball.

KJ McCluney KJ McCluney KJ McCluney 6'6" | PF Union County | 2021 State SC – Union County HS – Upward Stars Upstate Bailey

McCluney is a long and rangy wide receiver and forward on the hardwood. McCluney 6’6 can both forward spots on the basketball floor.

Jaleel Skinner Jaleel Skinner Jaleel Skinner 6'5" | SF IMG Academy | 2022 FL – Greer HS – Upward Stars Upstate Rudy

Skinner has received Power 5 Football offers from several schools already for his services as wide receiver. Skinner (2022) has received interest from Clemson, Florida State, Michigan and South Carolina just to name a few. Skinner really defends well in the passing lanes and plays the game with a great MOTOR.
