Dallas Showtyme put together yet another action-packed event, filled with talent from all of their grade levels. This program has consistently had a high recruiting rate and sends many kids from the Dallas area to play college ball each and every year. Here are a small few of the forwards that really caught my eye at the Showtyme Be Elite Camp.

[player_tooltip player_id="958603" first="Chauncey" last="Gibson"] | 6’5 | Small Forward/Shooting Guard | Duncanville High School | 2022 |Smooth operator with the ball in hand, every shot he takes, and every move he makes is as smooth as butter. Chauncey showed off his playmaking and guard skills in this one, looking to set his teammates up and get the younger guys involved. Good touch on his dimes, he put the ball right on the money whether it was a bounce pass or no-look pass. When [player_tooltip player_id="958603" first="Chauncey" last="Gibson"] is locked in and focused he can he really be a difference-maker on the on-court, his versatility is what sets him apart from everyone else at this elite camp.

[player_tooltip player_id="958598" first="Jason" last="Thirdkill Jr."] | 6’7 | Small Forward/Shooting Guard | Texas Allegiance of Christian Athletes | 2022 |This 3-star prospect is a scoring machine, a walking bucket that can score any time he wants, no matter who’s guarding him. Part of what makes Thirdkill so great is his ability to pull-up from anywhere on the floor, while also being able to beat defenders off the dribble. Extremely effective crossover, Jason uses a quick, thru the legs, crossover combo dribble move then blows by his man for the slam or for a pull-up jumper over the defense. His phenomenal length makes his jumpshot unblockable, he gets good elevation, and a high release every time. [player_tooltip player_id="958598" first="Jason" last="Thirdkill Jr."] is the hottest name of the summer, picking up multiple D1 offers, and dominating each event he’s participated in as well as this one.

Devyn Franklin | 6’7 | Small Forward | North Forney High School | 2022 |

Terrific physical attributes, Devyn was one of the best leapers in the gym, he knew exactly how to use his length to his advantage in the passing lanes, and when contesting shots at the basket. Anytime his opponent had a fast break they were in fear that Franklin would chase them down and block their shots as he had done several times before. He excelled in transition and in a fast pace setting due is his long strides. He loved to attack the rim, consistently drove straight to the basket, and punched it in. Franklin looked like a man amongst boys at times, he was out there snagging rebounds and catching lobs at the rim all with one hand. In the half-court, he showed that he can be an all-around scorer, getting buckets off of post-ups, spot-up jumpshots, pull-up jumpers, and also by beating his man off the dribble to the basket. Devyn Franklin’s great energy, enthusiasm, leadership, and his unselfishness stood out the most, when teammates got frustrated he assured them that things would be fine if they stayed focused, worked together, and didn’t argue.

Terrin Johnson | 6’7 | Power Forward | South Grand Prairie High School | 2021 | [player_tooltip player_id="1007338" first="Terin" last="Johnson"] is a big man that can run the floor and change the pace of the game. Johnson has a knack for getting the steal or the rebound and pushing the ball up the court. He was dominant, strong, and aggressive in the paint when scoring and grabbing boards, his solid build and size couldn’t be matched at all. Terin was toughest to guard when he was facing up and beating his man off the bounce for a slam or a layup. Impressive ball-handler for his size and position, he was able to create his own shot and get into the teeth of the defense using his ball skills and size. [player_tooltip player_id="1007338" first="Terin" last="Johnson"] is a highly skilled postman that can control the paint and stretch the floor.
