Continuing our series on Sleepers in the 2021 Class, I take today’s article to share some Wings/Forwards/Posts that are outside the Top 100 worth knowing about. Many of these players impressed during the AAU season while others utilized open-runs to be seen. Here are some of the State’s best unknown frontcourt players.

[player_tooltip player_id="918977" first="Jainaz" last="Cameron"] (London)- The 6’6 PF hasn’t be known to be a high volume scorer but may be forced to be just that this upcoming Winter. A threat on the glass, Cameron is incredibly difficult to keep off the boards and uses his strength to overpower opponents. With the loss of [player_tooltip player_id="593922" first="Trey" last="Woodyard"], Cameron will have to show he can be a primary scoring option which is doable. Should see point totals increase, especially 2nd chance opportunities.

[player_tooltip player_id="918995" first="Shane" last="Garcia"] (Toledo St. John’s)- Garcia has a solid frame and impressed with his overall demeanor as a player. Didn’t score a ton of points when I watched him this Summer, but has shown he has a solid bag of tools to score with. Lengthy 6’5 wing that plays with patience and is unselfish with the ball. Great perimeter defender that uses his length to be disruptive. He has already attracted attention from D3s and should continue to see schools at that level contact him.

[player_tooltip player_id="805211" first="Maurice" last="Collins"] (Thomas Worthington)- An unknown name due to the firepower on Thomas Worthington’s team. Collins brings the Cardinals a lengthier inside player that can step out and knock down jumpshots. Not as strong as teammate [player_tooltip player_id="918955" first="Tyrese" last="Hughey"], but has the athleticism to stretch defenders out on the perimeter and create scoring opportunities and mismatches.

[player_tooltip player_id="919018" first="Damontay" last="Raglin"] (Trotwood-Madison)- Raglin added some length this offseason and has shown improvement with using his new longer body to be a scoring threat on the inside. Combine this with his athletic frame and long arms and you have one of the better shot blockers in Southwest Ohio. Raglin should have an opportunity to see a larger role with Trotwood this Winter..

[player_tooltip player_id="1042162" first="Carter" last="McCorkle"] (Wheelersburg)- McCorkle recently committed to Marietta, but is still one of Southeast Ohio’s best under the radar prospects. The 6’5 Forward has a nice basketball IQ and shown he could be a versatile player if he puts the pieces together. Moves to create spacing and can step out and shoot the midrange jumper while also scoring with his back to the basket. As he continues to work on his dribble drive, he could be a dangerous offensive weapon for Marietta.

[player_tooltip player_id="919033" first="Jahki" last="Henderson"] (River Valley)- One’s first glance of Henderson would be he is the Center due to his size. What Jahki has done is prove he could transition into a stretch 4 at the collegiate level. A big body with a ton of heart and hustle, Henderson demonstrated his ability to shoot the basketball from the perimeter and draw bigger defenders to guard him. While I will need to see how his penetration game is, it’s clear Henderson has the green light to shoot the ball and can hit shots consistently from there.

[player_tooltip player_id="805213" first="Nolan" last="Burney"] (Carlisle)- Burney already had a larger frame for a PF, but this Summer demonstrated more bounce to his game. He showed more ability to get up and be a threat on the glass. Playing for a small school in Carlisle makes it difficult for coaches to see Burney compete, but rest assured he is one of the better offensive rebounders you will find in the SWBL and could be a heavy target for an NAIA looking for a Power Forward.

[player_tooltip player_id="1041806" first="Aigbokhai" last="Kadari"] (West Carrollton)- Kadari came on the scene last season as a solid interior role player that could dominate the glass with his extreme length. Continued to show this over the summer with Dayton Metro and should be a target for D3s at the Post position. Defensively gets his hand on most shots and forces opposing players to alter their shot. Rebounds the basketball at a high rate and has proven to be difficult to box out due to his size.
