The 2021 class is filled with talent, especially when it comes to burying triples. Marist commit [player_tooltip player_id="850507" first="Noah" last="Harris"] looks to be the best of the bunch, but don’t sleep on Hudson Catholic’s [player_tooltip player_id="850515" first="Justin" last="Glover"]. [player_tooltip player_id="900304" first="Brandon" last="Pfeifer"] is also a marksman from deep and Temple commit [player_tooltip player_id="850506" first="Zach" last="Hicks"] has a smooth shooting stroke. The updated rankings included several big-time shooters who can torch the nets from behind the arc. Here are the top newly ranked shooters in the 2021 class.

[player_tooltip player_id="1012958" first="Keith" last="Palek"], 6’7 SF St. Augustine

Palek had a strong summer for Olympus as he proved why he is one of the top shooters in New Jersey. The 6’7 lefty has a clean release as he wastes little motion in his shot. Palek sets his feet before he shoots and knows how to move off the ball. His ability to stretch the floor makes Palek a very intriguing prospect to watch this season.

[player_tooltip player_id="1012952" first="Devin" last="Benson"], 6’0 SG Camden

Palek was not the only Olympus shooter who had a big summer as Benson also stood out. The 6’0 lefty has a quick release on his shot and does not require a lot of space to get it off. Benson has deep range and shoots the ball with extreme confidence. He is capable of shooting off the dribble and can also spot up, which gives him the ability to play on the ball at the next level. Benson is a marksman from behind the arc and should continue to do so for Camden this season.

[player_tooltip player_id="1017710" first="Jordan" last="Derkack"], 6’3 SG Colonia

Derkack is known for his explosive leaping ability, but he is also a good shooter from behind the arc. The 6’3 guard has a nice release on his jumper and shoots with extreme confidence. Derkack can knock down pull up triples in transition or spot up on the wing. He can also beat his defender off the bounce, making him a tough matchup on the perimeter. Derkack’s athleticism along with his shooting makes him a player to watch in the GMC this season.

[player_tooltip player_id="1012961" first="Jack" last="Collins"], 6’5 SG Manasquan

Collins is one of the top shooters in the Shore Conference last season and will be again in 2020-21. The 6’5 guard excels at moving off the ball as he knows how to get himself open. Collins does not need a lot of space to get his shot off and is capable of getting hot from distance in a hurry. He wastes little motion in his form and has a nice touch in the mid-range. Collins’ ability to stretch the floor makes Manasquan the team to beat again in the Shore Conference.

[player_tooltip player_id="1016639" first="Evan" last="Perez"], 5’10 PG Elizabeth

Perez may be more known for his tough on-ball defense, but he is also a knockdown shooter. The 5’10 guard knows how to play off the ball and sets his feet before he shoots. Perez has a quick release on his shot and is capable of knocking down triples in bunches. He can also shoot the ball off the dribble and has a good mid-range game. Perez is a tough point guard prospect whose shooting ability should be key for Elizabeth this season.
