Johnson is one of the most complete basketball players in the state, and his stats reflect that. He is a versatile player that is capable of playing the 1 through the 3. Johnson is a slashing scorer with sneaky athletic ability and some of the most powerful and explosive dunks I’ve ever seen out of a high school player. With a hard-working attitude on and off the court, Johnson has improved every aspect of his game and has turned into an impressive player. He is a 3 and D player who will help you out in almost every aspect of the game. Hitting on 41% of his three-point attempts last season and averaging 4.1 steals a game, he is a threat at both ends of the court. With Johnson already averaging nearly 5 assists and 7 rebounds per game, I could definitely see him turning into a very solid point forward in the future if he can improve on his playmaking a bit more.

The class of 22’ forward has already proven himself to be a powerful force on the court. Johnson played in the post last year but will be transitioning a little more to the wing this upcoming season. He posses above average finishing ability in the paint and loves to attack the rim. With Johnson playing more of the Small Forward position, he has definitely improved on his ball-handling ability and his midrange shot, hitting an impressive 60% of his two-point shots. In his sophomore year, he put up some eye-catching numbers averaging 17 points per game and grabbing 9 boards a game as well. If Bakari continues to develop, he could be one of the top defensive wings in the state by his graduation year.

[player_tooltip player_id="1018117" first="Zach" last="Amonett"] | 6’2" Combo Guard | Pickett County

Zach has already established himself as one of the top scorers for the 2022 class. Last season he averaged 24.2 points per game while hitting on 103 three-point shots at a decent 38% for beyond the arc. He is a scrappy combo guard that likes to compete on both ends of the court. Plays with a lot of emotion and is a very confident shooter. He has already picked up and offer from Missouri Western State and if he keeps up his tremendous scoring stats, he should have many more offers coming his way down the line. I would not be surprised to see Amonett competing for the state scoring title for the next two years.

Logan Johnson | Dayspring Academy

When you watch Johnson play the first thing that stands out to you is defense. That’s the name of the game with this kid. Johnson, who brings so much energy to the court, led the state in steals last season racking up 4.6 a game. He is such an all-around player who affects the game in almost every aspect. Johnson averaged 13 points per game last season while also racking up 4.3 assists and grabbing 4 rebounds a game as well. He is a very unselfish player who loves to pass the rock, if he sees a teammate open he will do everything in his power to get them the ball. He is a much improved three-point shooter hitting on 40% of his attempts from beyond the arc. He is a big name to watch this upcoming season, could be a breakout year for Johnson.
