Here are some of the top 16U Kansas posts from The Finale (in alphabetical order and with club and high school listed):
Fred Criqui, SSA Black 16U, St. Marys:
A well-build and strong post man, Criqui has good hands and versatile skills. At 6-foot-7, he moves well in the lane and runs full court. He has the skill to put the ball on the floor or to pop open for catches. He has a nice shot and can score on put backs. Defensively, he is active and disruptive.
Noah Hastert, SSA Black 16U, Cair Paravel:
One of the most fundamental players around, the small school standout deserves more attention than he receives. He has good hands and good length. At 6-foot-6, he can do a lot of things around the rim, and his team-first attitude makes him a good passer, screen-setter and helper on defense. As Cair Paravel moves into KSHSAA competition next year, the rising junior should turn some heads.
Cole James, KC United 16U, DeSoto:
James has good size and good feel for how to use it. He’s 6-foot-4 and a heady player at both ends. He has good fundamentals and works hard in the lane. He is particularly good at ripping down a rebound and looking to outlet. With good hands and long arms, he can catch and score or look to kick back out of the post.
Wade Myrtle, B2B Elite 16U, Wichita Heights:
The 6-foot-6 post is listed as a 2023 graduate. Myrtle is the one true post on a club team of jackrabbits. He hustles be available on the break or to clean up on the glass. He is a strong rebounder who covers for his smaller teammates at the back of the defense. He is well built and good in the post, but what makes him special on B2B is his ability to catch and score on the run.
