We covered Minnesota live, but don’t fear Illinois teams that were in Kansas City we got you covered too! All this week we are rolling out our Film Room evaluations from the event! Here is The Finale Film Room: Sky Ice Elite 17U!
RJ Walker RJ Walker 6'1" | PG Decatur Eisenhower | 2021 State IL (Decatur Eisenhower – 2021)
The 6’2” point guard from Eisenhower is the headliner of this Sky Ice Elite squad. Strong point guard that can really pass it. That is the area he shined the most against the Colorado Soldiers. Got in the lane with his strength and crisp ball handling. Most of the time he was looking to set others up whether it was dump off passes inside or to the corner for threes. Had a few turnovers, but overall pretty effective game as a distributor. Missed quite a few bunnies, but we liked how he kept attacking getting to the line. Hit a pair of threes from the wing.
Tarquavion Smith (Decatur MacArthur – 2021)
Good size and length for this 6’3” shooting guard. Gets to the line at a high rate. Showed solid handles and some athleticism off the bounce. Hit one three from the corner.
Jabryn Anderson (Decatur MacArthur – 2022)
Anderson is a name to watch in the rising junior class. The left handed guard impressed with his high activity level. Quick off the bounce. Got to the line a lot, but was streaky from there. Liked how he competed defensively. Hit a pair of corner threes. Had the play of the game stealing a pass and taking it the other way for the winning points.
Steve Czajkowski (Taylorville – 2021)
Long and rangy 6’4” shooting guard that has some projectability. Used that length defensively getting steals and blocking shots. Got loose in transition for a couple scores.
Wyatt Shirley (Taylorville – 2021)
Shirley is a 6’2” Taylorville two guard that scored all his points in the paint on acrobatic layups on quick passes or in transition.
Hayden Smith (Auburn – 2021)
Smith shot it pretty well off the catch drilling a pair of spot up threes. Moves feet decent defensively.
Mentor Ballazhi (Maroa Forsyth – 2021)
This 5’10” point guard is a crafty point guard that had a sweet steal which he turned into a score on the other end.
