The Finale Film Room: Old Gold 17U

<p>PrepHoops had two monster events the weekend of August 8-9 in Minnesota and Kansas City.  We covered Minnesota live, but don’t fear Illinois teams that were in Kansas City we got you covered too!  All this week we are rolling out our Film Room evaluations from the event!  Here is <strong>The Finale Film Room: Old Gold 17U</strong>!</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1048734" first="Cassius" last="Brooks"] (Curie – 2021)</strong></p> <p>Brooks is a 6’0” combo guard with a strong and stocky build.  He can really put the ball in the hoop.  Scored effectively from all levels.  Drilled an array of threes off the catch with sound mechanics.  Combined that with several explosive drives off the bounce including multiple on the baseline for buckets.  Has strength to finish through contact at the rim.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Nikolas Robinson (Kenwood – 2022)</strong></p> <p>Robinson jumped off the floor at us in this game.  The 6’5” Kenwood four man is a long and lanky post with projectability.  His second jump was a huge factor in his production as he got on the offensive glass over and over again.  Rim runner in transition, had a finish in the pick/roll, and took his man off the bounce from the mid-post.  The lefty even connected on a three.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Rashard Harris (Kankakee – 2021)</strong></p> <p>Harris is an undersized 6’3” four man with a physical body.  The strong and broad shouldered post is powerful and athletic in the paint.  Good area rebounder.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1049107" first="Edjuan" last="Poole"] (Julian – 2022)</strong></p> <p>Poole is a 6’4” four man from Julian that looks like a college defensive lineman.  Strong build with solid athleticism.  Powerful inside finishing in traffic.  Got on the offensive glass for quite a few of his points.  Good rebounder on both ends of the floor.</p>
