The Prep Hoops Circuit rolled on this past weekend at the Southwest Slam in Duncanville, Texas. Teams and players from several different states were in attendance, but the Sooner State was incredibly well-represented, especially in the 17U division. A bunch of Oklahoma prospects made noise over the course of the tournament. Here are a few prospects that caught my attention:

[player_tooltip player_id="745363" first="Jaylon" last="White"] | 2021 | 6'2'' Point Guard | PB Nation 17U Gold | Norman North HS - This dude put on a show in Duncanville. White was simply electric during this stop of the Prep Hoops Circuit. He can get it done with flashy finishes at the basket, step-back threes, and pinpoint dishes. He was a living, breathing highlight reel. He possesses exceptional body control and is an acrobatic finisher on the drive. White is also a skilled shooter off the dribble who can create a ton of separation between him and defenders, freeing himself up for high percentage looks from deep. The Norman North guard is wired to score but can create for others too. He is a special player.

[player_tooltip player_id="1015838" first="Joe" last="Adams"] | 2022 | 6'1'' Point Guard | Oklahoma Swarm Elite 17U | Edmond Santa Fe HS - Adams is a freak athlete with some major ups. In my opinion, he was responsible for the best defensive play of the tournament when he chased down his man in transition and swatted a layup attempt off the backboard. He is a high-level on-ball stopper who gets down in a stance and defends every possession. Adams was constantly turning defense into offense with breakaway layups thanks to his ability to be a big-time disrupter. He is a hidden gem in the class of 2022.

[player_tooltip player_id="745358" first="Dalante" last="Shannon"] | 2021 | 6'2'' Combo Guard | Team Buddy Buckets | Edmond North HS - Shannon was a lockdown perimeter defender all weekend long in Duncanville. He moves his feet well and keeps opponents in front of him. His defensive instincts are tremendous. He is really disciplined at that end, something we are seeing less and less of with young players. Shannon can also get it done on offense. The No. 4 ranked prospect in our 2021 Oklahoma rankings is great at getting inside and finishing in traffic. He's solid from mid-range and behind the arc as well.

[player_tooltip player_id="953451" first="Anthony" last="Turner"] | 2021 | 6'3'' Combo Guard | Oklahoma Chaos Elite 17U | Classen SAS HS - Turner was so good at getting inside and making shots close to the hoop this past weekend. His penetrating ability is next level and he has no issue scoring in traffic. He shot the three ball well, forcing defenders to respect him as a shooter and subsequently taking advantage of the cushion he was afforded on the perimeter. He is unbothered by contests, welcoming contact when he gets into the teeth of the D and earning himself tons of opportunities at the free throw line. I like him best at the off-guard spot where he can fill it up as a scorer.

[player_tooltip player_id="931234" first="Elijah" last="Mason"] | 2021 | 6'4'' Small Forward/Power Forward | Oklahoma Swarm Elite 17U | Hoops for Christ HS - Mason is a physical player with a thick frame. He is an explosive leaper who can finish above the rim with power, as he did several times during this tournament. His touch in the paint is solid too, showing that he has some finesse to his game. He is comfortable handling the ball on the perimeter and is a deceptively good passer for his size and position. Additionally, Mason defends multiple positions and contributes on the boards. He does a little bit of everything for his team, showing off his versatility in all of his outings.
