August 3rd and 4th Justin Vargas and I put on the 4th annual Southwest Basketball Camp at the Arizona Sports Complex in Phx, AZ.

104 players from Arizona, California, New Mexico and Michigan battled it out. 12 teams with 8-9 players each.

Each team played 4 games with a possible All-Star game. The All-Star games lived up to the hype with many coaches walking away impressed with what they saw and 6 basketball offers were given out so far.

We will go back and look at each teams players.

Here is Team Washington State:

Top-20 game

[player_tooltip player_id="714798" first="Nicolas" last="Giliberto"] (Paradise Valley) (Pictured)

-My top shooting forward made it look easy from deep. He has a quick high release. He hit 15 3's in 5 games played including 4 deep ones in the Top-20 game. He is that pure specialist at the next level. He can score it some inside with his strength, IQ and skill. He rebounds well in his area and he smartly changes speeds with his handle to get by his defenders in the open court. He has one of those shots that looks good on every attempt.

[player_tooltip player_id="809730" first="Tony" last="Elliott Jr"] (Desert Mountain)

-A quickly growing PG who keeps improving his athleticism and overall game. He is playing above the rim on the break and uses a tight handle to get into the lane with a good burst and he can now finish off difficult layups in traffic with it above the defense. He has a nice pull-up from mid-range and a capable 3pt shooter, which he doesn't attempt often. He uses his long arms, speed and athleticism to defend and collect steals.

Top-40 game

[player_tooltip player_id="827044" first="Easton" last="Reagan"] (Desert Mountain)

-The top deep shooter has more then just his pretty shot. He can score it inside the paint with his nice handle and is crafty around the rim using his long strides. He passes the ball really well with either hand and rebounds well for a guard. He has great shooting form and he uses his shot confidently.

[player_tooltip player_id="827017" first="William" last="Dubuc"] (Desert Mountain)

-One of the top rebounders at the entire camp. He is a quick second jumper and seems to know where the ball will land to corral the rebound. He plays with a big motor and he is an extremely efficient scorer in the paint. He is a predominate paint scorer and can extend his range out.

Non-senior All-Star game

[player_tooltip player_id="814505" first="Zach" last="Anderson"] (Desert Mountain)

-A talented soph can shoot it from the 3pt line and score it by driving the lane and he has a nice pull-up off the dribble from mid-range. He has good length and his athleticism seems to be kicking in with some impressive drives high near the rim. His jumper, court savvy and frame makes him a nice long term prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id="1030972" first="Nick" last="Tolson"] (Chaparral)

-A strong shooting forward from the 3pt line. He has a sturdy frame and can carve out space to rebound inside. He is somewhat of a specialist and he knows who he is. His shooting stroke is consistent and gives high effort every game.

Others

[player_tooltip player_id="831128" first="Ryan" last="Ginsberg"] (Desert Mountain)

-The young pure PG can shoot it from the perimeter and has a nice pull-up. He has a tight handle, a big IQ, good court vision and he will most likely take the reigns for the Wolves when Elliott Jr graduates.

[player_tooltip player_id="1030973" first="Vincent" last="Parise"] (Desert Mountain)

-A slick scoring PG has a smart mind and he can shoot. He can take his man off the dribble and get into the lane and score it. He can shoot it from the 3 and is crafty in the lane with a pull-up.

[player_tooltip player_id="1030976" first="Anthony" last="Parise"] (Desert Mountain)

-The younger brother has some game as well. He can shoot it with a nice lefty stroke and can slither his way to the rim and score it through contact. He also is a good advanced passer. Both boys are pure gym rats as they were the first in the gym to get shots up very early!
