Saturday evening at the I95 Coalition featured some good runs. Here are eight standouts from the P.M. game sets.

[player_tooltip player_id="777061" first="Favour" last="Aire"] | New World/Bishop McNamara (MD) ’22

New World and the District were locked into a fierce battle for 3 and a half quarters. Ultimately Aire was able to help his team outlast their foes as a result of his dominance in the paint. His combination of size and length proved to be formidable for those who challenged him.

[player_tooltip player_id="902003" first="David" last="Brown III"] | Team Durant/Bishop McNamara (MD) ’21

Brown had a productive outing this evening for Team Durant. He made shots from all over the court while also doing his due diligence defensively and on the glass.

[player_tooltip player_id="562690" first="Ryan" last="Cornish"] | District Basketball Club/Sidwell Friends (DC) ’21

Cornish got into a nice rhythm and finished as his team’s leading scorer with 15 points. He mixed it up nicely by hitting jumpers from behind the arc and the in-between areas but also showed that he is not afraid to attack the basket. Cornish also frustrated his opponents with his intelligent defense, as per usual.

[player_tooltip player_id="543848" first="Brayon" last="Freeman"] | New World/Huntington Prep (WV) ’21

GW commit [player_tooltip player_id="543848" first="Brayon" last="Freeman"] was responsible for a virtuoso performance in his team’s win tonight. He caught fire from downtown, draining 4 of his 8 attempts. Freeman also applied constant pressure on the rim off the bounce with his paint-getting ability and craftiness.

[player_tooltip player_id="902007" first="Jao" last="Ituka"] | Team S.T.A.T./Gaithersburg (MD) ’21

Ituka performed at a high-level today, recording a double-double in a blowout win for Team S.T.A.T. He efficiently got buckets, competed defensively, and was devastating in transition.

Mac MacDonald | Team Richmond/Collegiate (VA) ’21

MacDonald busted out for his best offensive performance to date at the I95 Coalition. The combo guard pumped in 27 points while shooting 4 of 8 from three and 5 of 5 from the charity stripe. One shouldn’t pigeonhole MacDonald as a shooter though. He’s a solid all-around player who becomes that much more effective when his shot is falling.

Miles Webb | District Basketball Club/SSSAS (VA) ’22

Webb’s combination of athleticism and versatility proved useful against New World’s massive front line. He played above the rim on both ends and proved to be an indispensable player for his team.

[player_tooltip player_id="902069" first="Mike" last="Woods"] | DMV Sports Academy

Woods impressed tonight despite his team’s lackluster effort. He hauled in 13 boards to go along with 22 points and scored in every way imaginable. What impressed me most about Woods was that he never let his foot off the gas pedal even though his team was out of the game for most of the second half.
