The 2023 class is in the Garden State is filled with big-time talent. [player_tooltip player_id="850751" first="Dajuan" last="Wagner Jr"]. was selected as Second Teal All-State and is the top-ranked prospect in the 2023 class. [player_tooltip player_id="850752" first="Simeon" last="Wilcher"] had some big-time moments for Roselle Catholic over the course of his debut season, while [player_tooltip player_id="902732" first="Mackenzie" last="Mgbako"] was consistent all season long for Gill St. Bernard’s. [player_tooltip player_id="850753" first="Akil" last="Watson"] also had a strong freshman campaign for Don Bosco Prep, but the 2023 class is filled with talented frontcourt players. Here are the top 2023 forwards who should have a big 2020-21 season.

[player_tooltip player_id="992524" first="Aaron" last="Bradshaw"], 6’11 PF Roselle Catholic

Gatorade Player of the Year [player_tooltip player_id="850316" first="Cliff" last="Omoruyi"] patrolled the paint for the Lions and they need to replace his production down low. Bradshaw is more of a face-up big man, but he has the skill and talent to have a productive sophomore season. The lanky stretch four has a good perimeter game and is capable of beating his man off the bounce. Bradshaw has a nice release on his jumper and uses his length to swat shots around the rim. Roselle Catholic will be one of the favorites to take home the Non-Public B North title with Bradshaw getting more touches on offense.

[player_tooltip player_id="902751" first="Cornelius" last="Robinson"], 6’4 SF Camden

The Panthers were the most dominant team in New Jersey, but they have to replace Kentucky commit [player_tooltip player_id="766063" first="Lance" last="Ware"]. Robinson played solid minutes for head coach Rick Brunson in his first season and is ready for a large role in 2020-21. The 6’4 forward attacks the basket hard and knows how to draw contact. Robinson is a solid rebounder and plays tough defense. [player_tooltip player_id="850504" first="Ta’Quan" last="Woodley"] will get more minutes down low, which should provide Robinson opportunities to play on the perimeter.

[player_tooltip player_id="902742" first="Delroy" last="Smith"], 6’5 PF Newark East Side

Newark East Side is only a year removed from playing in the Tournament of Champions, which Felician commit [player_tooltip player_id="850338" first="Mikah" last="Johnson Jr."] played a key part. Smith had a good debut varsity season and should expect more looks down low. The burly 6’5 forward has a nice touch around the basket and has good hands. Smith plays with good footwork down low and fights for rebounds on both ends of the floor. Newark East Side went 17-10 last season, but should get to the 20-win mark with Smith getting more involved on offense.

[player_tooltip player_id="933732" first="Devon" last="Theophile"], 6’5 PF St. Joseph (Hammonton)

[player_tooltip player_id="900329" first="Marcus" last="Pierce"] and [player_tooltip player_id="900365" first="Jordan" last="Stafford"] run the show for the Wildcats, but they need someone to replace Daniel Skillings’ production. Theophile played a big role last season and is expected to get more looks down low. The 6’5 forward knows how to get position down low and can score around the basket. Theophile is a solid rebounder and is an underrated shot-blocker. St. Joseph (Hammonton) has the chance to make a deep run in Non-Public B South with Theophile providing a boost down low.

Tristen Guillouette (Westech), 6’7 C Westampton Tech

The Panthers had a strong 2019-20 campaign, but they have to replace Lincoln commit [player_tooltip player_id="929683" first="Tyrese" last="Myrick"]’s scoring. Guillotte came off the bench during his freshman season, but is ready for a larger role. The 6’7 big man runs the floor well and plays with good footwork down low. Guillotte has a nice release on his jumper and is working on his range. Westampton Tech has the opportunity to compete for the South Jersey Group 3 title with Guillotte getting more involved down low.

Other Players to Watch:

[player_tooltip player_id="902737" first="Zack" last="Davis"], 6’7 SF Ranney School

[player_tooltip player_id="1013064" first="Ted" last="Gregoire"], 6’5 PF Roselle Park

[player_tooltip player_id="1013072" first="Jalen" last="Pichardo"], 6’4 SF East Brunswick

[player_tooltip player_id="1013075" first="Carson" last="Howard"], 6’7 PF Lacey

[player_tooltip player_id="1013098" first="Noah" last="Taylor"], 6’4 SF Colonia
