<p>PrepHoops Illinois took a look at the film from the recent final Stealth Runs for rising juniors. The event was run by trainer Christopher Spartz. There were quite a few high profile prospects in this event along with several new names that emerged. Here we dive into the players in<strong> 2022 Stealth Runs: Evaluations</strong>!</p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="863583" first="Robbie" last="Avila"] (Oak Forest)</strong></p>
[caption id="attachment_1033456" align="alignleft" width="300"]<a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/08/Robbie-Avila-Stealth-Spartz.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-1033456" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/08/Robbie-Avila-Stealth-Spartz-300x174.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="174" /></a> Photo: Christopher Spartz[/caption]
<p>Avila is a top 5 prospect in the 2022 class in Illinois. The 6’8” four man was excellent rim running all night long for points beating his man down the floor. He runs straight down the middle of the floor and was rewarded over and over again with scores. Works well in the pick/roll, crashes the glass for put backs, and can stretch the floor with his shooting.</p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="925178" first="Kyle" last="Thomas"] (St. Joseph)</strong></p>
[caption id="attachment_1033457" align="alignleft" width="300"]<a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/08/Kyle-Thomas-Stealth-Spartz.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-1033457" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/08/Kyle-Thomas-Stealth-Spartz-300x195.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="195" /></a> Photo: Christopher Spartz[/caption]
<p>It was a bit of a slow start for the highest ranked prospect at the event, but once he got into the flow he showcased why he is the top center in the class. The St. Joe’s 6’8” five man snatched rebounds in traffic, got on the glass for second chance points, threw down a few dunks, and protected the rim defensively. Even flashed a mid-range jumper that he is slowly developing.</p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="863588" first="Kam" last="Craft"] (Buffalo Grove)</strong></p>
[caption id="attachment_1033458" align="alignleft" width="300"]<a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/08/Kam-Craft-Stealth-Spartz.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-1033458" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/08/Kam-Craft-Stealth-Spartz-300x185.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="185" /></a> Photo: Christopher Spartz[/caption]
<p>Craft was outstanding in this setting! The Buffalo Grove 6’4” small forward is a creative wing that can really shoot the rock. Loved drilling threes from the corners. Also mixed in some mid-range shots and showed bounce off the dribble including an explosive dunk late in the event. Craft is primed for a move up the board in our next update!</p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="925190" first="Cooper" last="Noard"] (Glenbrook South)</strong></p>
[caption id="attachment_1033459" align="alignleft" width="300"]<a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/08/Cooper-Noard-Stealth-Spartz.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-1033459" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/08/Cooper-Noard-Stealth-Spartz-300x183.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="183" /></a> Photo: Christopher Spartz[/caption]
<p>One of the more underrated point guards in the class is this 6’0” point guard. Elite level shooter that was lights out throughout the games. He connected on threes pulling up, off the catch, and side stepping for triples. Hit mid-range shots and turnaround jumpers with ease. Had a couple runners and was a sound passer, but it was his shooting that shined the most!</p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong><br />
[player_tooltip player_id="863605" first="Justin" last="King"] (Mascoutah)</strong></p>
[caption id="attachment_1033460" align="alignleft" width="300"]<a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/08/Justin-King-Stealth-Spartz.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-1033460" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/08/Justin-King-Stealth-Spartz-300x193.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="193" /></a> Photo: Christopher Spartz[/caption]
<p>King made the trip up from southern Illinois to prove he is a top 15 prospect and more than lived up to that billing. The big guard has excellent length with projectability moving forward. Ultra smooth with the ball in his hands taking it off the dribble for scores at cup. Shot it pretty well with step back threes and pull ups. Crashed the glass from his guard spot. Played with a lot of confidence.</p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong>Donovan Brown (Plainfield East)</strong></p>
[caption id="attachment_1033461" align="alignleft" width="300"]<a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/08/Donovan-Brown-Stealth-Spartz.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-1033461" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/08/Donovan-Brown-Stealth-Spartz-300x196.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="196" /></a> Photo: Christopher Spartz[/caption]
<p>Brown is a 6’0” point guard from Plainfield East that displayed speed going coast to coast and threw a bullet pass.</p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong>Jaydin Dunlap (Bolingbrook)</strong></p>
[caption id="attachment_1033462" align="alignleft" width="300"]<a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/08/Jaydin-Dunlap-Stealth-Spartz.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-1033462" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/08/Jaydin-Dunlap-Stealth-Spartz-300x176.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="176" /></a> Photo: Christopher Spartz[/caption]
<p>This Bolingbrook 6’1” point guard is primed for a breakout season. He was one of the most productive guards at the event. Used his explosive speed in transition and putting it on the deck in the half court for athletic conversions. Scored a ton in the open floor with his athleticism.</p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="996082" first="David" last="Hubbard"] (St. Thomas More)</strong></p>
[caption id="attachment_1033464" align="alignleft" width="300"]<a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/08/David-Hubbard-Stealth-Spartz.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-1033464" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/08/David-Hubbard-Stealth-Spartz-300x194.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="194" /></a> Photo: Christopher Spartz[/caption]
<p>Hubbard is a two guard with nice size at 6’4”. The long and lanky athlete has projectability moving forward. Burst on straight line drives. Can hit an occasional jumper and threw a long outlet on the money.</p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="863629" first="Sam" last="Bradbury"] (Mattoon)</strong></p>
[caption id="attachment_1033465" align="alignleft" width="300"]<a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/08/Sam-Bradbury-Stealth-Spartz.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-1033465" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/08/Sam-Bradbury-Stealth-Spartz-300x161.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="161" /></a> Photo: Christopher Spartz[/caption]
<p>This big man was a beast on the glass! Going against some of the top post prospects in his class he proved he is an elite level rebounder. Snatched boards over and over again in traffic. Offensively he finished with power in the paint.</p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong>Ty Butler (Downers Grove South)</strong></p>
[caption id="attachment_1033466" align="alignleft" width="300"]<a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/08/Ty-Butler-Stealth-Spartz.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-1033466" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/08/Ty-Butler-Stealth-Spartz-300x169.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="169" /></a> Photo: Christopher Spartz[/caption]
<p>Butler is a 6’0” point guard that plays with quickness. Couple jumpers along with drives to the hoop including an impressive jump stop finish.</p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong><br />
[player_tooltip player_id="925218" first="Adidas" last="Davis"] (Buffalo Grove)</strong></p>
[caption id="attachment_1033467" align="alignleft" width="300"]<a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/08/Adidas-Davis-Stealth-Spartz.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-1033467" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/08/Adidas-Davis-Stealth-Spartz-300x180.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="180" /></a> Photo: Christopher Spartz[/caption]
<p>Davis intrigued us during the year. The 6’5” lefty has a long and lanky frame. Still a bit raw, but flashes including a long pass for an assist and a quick post move on the block.</p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong>Malaun Grayer (Kenwood)</strong></p>
[caption id="attachment_1033468" align="alignleft" width="300"]<a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/08/Malaun-Grayer-Stealth-Spartz.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-1033468" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/08/Malaun-Grayer-Stealth-Spartz-300x188.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="188" /></a> Photo: Christopher Spartz[/caption]
<p>Grayer is a plus athlete at 6’3” on the wing. Was best using that getting up and down the court for scores, finishing off quick passes inside, and flashing as a defender.</p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong><br />
[player_tooltip player_id="925217" first="Kolby" last="Gilles"] (St. Ignatius)</strong></p>
[caption id="attachment_1033469" align="alignleft" width="300"]<a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/08/Kolby-Giles-Stealth-Spartz.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-1033469" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/08/Kolby-Giles-Stealth-Spartz-300x190.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="190" /></a> Photo: Christopher Spartz[/caption]
<p>Gilles is a big bodied and physical 6’5” power forward that brought his high-motor on this night. He was consistently flying down the floor for transition dunks. Powerful getting on the offensive boards and showed glimpses of putting it on the deck with straight line takes.</p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong>Toby Onyekonwu (Plainfield East)</strong></p>
[caption id="attachment_1033471" align="alignleft" width="300"]<a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/08/Toby-Onyekonwu-Stealth-Spartz.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-1033471" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/08/Toby-Onyekonwu-Stealth-Spartz-300x184.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="184" /></a> Photo: Christopher Spartz[/caption]
<p>This Plainfield East 5’10” point guard knocked in an array of mid-range shots along with stretching it out to three on one occasion. Pesky defender and makes quick passes. Nose for the basketball.</p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong><br />
[player_tooltip player_id="863633" first="Jayden" last="Dean"] (Neuqua Valley)</strong></p>
[caption id="attachment_1033478" align="alignleft" width="300"]<a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/08/Jayden-Dean-Stealth-Spartz.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-1033478" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/08/Jayden-Dean-Stealth-Spartz-300x195.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="195" /></a> Photo: Christopher Spartz[/caption]
<p>Dean is a 6’0” guard who always seems to play well in these up and down camp settings. Shined once again at Stealth Runs. He was lights out shooting it whether it was corner threes or baseline jumpers. Pushes in the open floor going coast to coast on a regular basis. Works well as a passer in the pick/roll.</p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong><br />
[player_tooltip player_id="925225" first="Ethan" last="Marlowe"] (St. Charles North)</strong></p>
[caption id="attachment_1033479" align="alignleft" width="300"]<a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/08/Ethan-Marlowe-Stealth-Spartz.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-1033479" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/08/Ethan-Marlowe-Stealth-Spartz-300x195.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="195" /></a> Photo: Christopher Spartz[/caption]
<p>Marlowe showed some raw tools when we watched him during the high school season. The well-built four man has broad shoulders and good mobility. He displayed skill around the hoop on a spin move, reverse layups, and utilized sound footwork. Played better as the night went on.</p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="939076" first="Xavier" last="Sulaiman"] (Marist – 2023)</strong></p>
[caption id="attachment_1033480" align="alignleft" width="300"]<a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/08/Xavier-Sulaiman-Stealth-Spartz-1.jpg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-1033480" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/08/Xavier-Sulaiman-Stealth-Spartz-1-300x181.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="181" /></a> Photo: Christopher Spartz[/caption]
<p>The Marist combo guard was the only 2023 in the event. He actually played better in the 2022 run than 2023. Silky smooth with the rock in his hands with his slick handles getting to the hoop with ease. Easy acceleration off the bounce. Also knocked in several jumpers including stretching it out to three a couple times.</p>
