Connor Chappell Connor Chappell 6'6" | PF Orono | 2021 State MN of Minnesota Crossfire (Orono). Connor is a guy that I like in the Weston Baker Mcgrath role. Not the same level of player as Weston as they are different size and Weston’s quick bounce is rare, but Connor is in that same mold of powerful, explosive power forward that finishes quickly and aggressively. Has the potential to be a 17 point, 10 rebound a game guy (although he is playing PF for Orono who has a 6-10 center) and is definitely a D3 prospect to keep a close eye on.
Mo Hammadelniel Mo Hammadelniel 6'2" | PG Rochester Mayo | 2021 State MN of D1 Minnesota Prospects (Rochester Mayo). First off I had Mo’s name right in the beginning but a summer roster had it spelled different so I memorized that as I figured that was right. It was not so we must say sorry to Mo for that. Hammadelniel is one of the biggest summer stock jumpers overall in the state of Minnesota. He’s gone from a 3-4 bucket a game guy for Mayo to being a player that could score 18-19 a night for the Spartans. Mo’s ability to dribble separate and get into a shot has developed into a true weapon as a scorer. He’s going to spend the next four months working hard and it will be very interesting to see where he takes his game next. A 6-foot-3, 6-foot-4 shooting guard.
Kegan Heiderscheidt Kegan Heiderscheidt 6'7" | SF Sleepy Eye | 2021 State MN of Minnesota Rise (Sleepy Eye). We did not understand what Kegan truly was last spring when we initially ranked him and looked at some film. We do now. Kegan Heiderscheidt Kegan Heiderscheidt 6'7" | SF Sleepy Eye | 2021 State MN is one of Minnesota’s smartest passers and a solid ball handler. At his size he scored 15 a game as a junior, but was also creating shots for others on a regular basis and pulling in 7-8 boards. This summer with the Rise, Kegan faced some of the more quality wings at this level and the difference of skill was so often clear as Kegan simply did more than guys that will be playing for D2 and D3 teams in the near future. Because of his skill, I would look at this young man as a partial D2 guy or a top D3 prospect.
Delwyn Holthusen Delwyn Holthusen 6'6" | PF Red Lake | 2021 State MN of Minnesota Select Robinson (Red Lake). What Delwyn is about to do number wise for Red Lake is going to be awesome, be ware of what’s coming. He was a 25 point, 14-15 rebound a game player last year, and now he’s a legit 6-foot-6 with added strength and experience. Expect a lot of 30 and 20 games this winter and consideration for the Class A player of the year if Red Lake can have the 20 win season we think they will. The raw ability is there, and Delwyn’s experience at the 17u level is really going to help him moving forward as a prospect.
Reagan Koch Reagan Koch 6'3" | PG Jordan | 2021 State MN of Minnesota Crossfire (Jordan). It surely took me longer to understand how good Reagan as a constant contributor and high IQ playmaker than I would of liked, but I’ve come around. We are about to see a special senior season from this young man. I was just blown away how Reagan seemed to take over every Crossfire game I watched at some point, but most amazing was that he did it in so many different ways. One game it was the three point touch, another game it was his handle into creating shots for others, other games it was his ball pressure/position defensive fight/ability to force turnovers. Scholarship player.
Michael McIntyre Michael McIntyre 6'5" | SF Osseo | 2021 State MN of D1 Minnesota Prospects (Osseo). McIntyre has the physical capabilities and game understanding to be a nice frontcourt contributor at Osseo this year. His work rate around the basket was a key factor for his summer team and if he plays like that with Osseo, I think he will have a nice role there too. Could be a nice D3 worker at 6-foot-4.
Griffin Rushin Griffin Rushin 6'7" | PF Brainerd | 2021 State MN of Minnesota Matrix (Brainerd). From a deep ranking to a college prospect list, that is Griffin Rushin Griffin Rushin 6'7" | PF Brainerd | 2021 State MN . If you look now – the rankings update is coming very soon and Rushin will soon be much higher – Griffin Rushin Griffin Rushin 6'7" | PF Brainerd | 2021 State MN is ranked 184th in the state. His jump will be a legit 140-150 spots. Rushin is a 6-foot-7 small forward with skills. Often that is said about guys his size and really, they are power forwards because they can’t move to defend real small forwards and their skills aren’t quite there. That’s not Griffin Rushin Griffin Rushin 6'7" | PF Brainerd | 2021 State MN , Griffin has the ball handling ability and shooting touch of a true three and his agility will allow him to move with opposing threes. He’s a legit scholarship player.
Shane Stevenson Shane Stevenson 6'6" | PF Nicollet | 2021 State MN of Minnesota Rise (Nicollet). Shane is already a top 100 guy that is coming off a great winter scoring 18 a game. His major jump will go from being a 6-foot-6/6-foot-7 solid Class A frontcourt player to being a stretch four man that can hit as a member of the 40% Club. His stroke is so pure and Shane releases it with confidence. You take that with the ability to do things facing, to do things in the paint if needed and you have a prospect that’s grabbed attention.
Laron Thomas Laron Thomas 6'1" | SG North St. Paul | 2021 State MN of Minnesota Heat PB&J (North St. Paul). Laron Thomas Laron Thomas 6'1" | SG North St. Paul | 2021 State MN has two things that I think that are going to make him a really nice player at the division three level. First, physically he can get off the ground as quickly as anybody allowing him to board and finish against bigger players. The second thing is Laron’s work rate which led to a near double-double last year of around 10 and 10. Type of active, agile forward that can be used in a lot of ways.
