Alonzo Dodd Alonzo Dodd 6'2" | CG South St Paul | 2022 State MN of Grassroots Sizzle (South St. Paul). I believe when it’s all said and done, Alonzo Dodd Alonzo Dodd 6'2" | CG South St Paul | 2022 State MN is going to be picking from a healthy supply of top mid major programs (schools from the Mountain West, Missouri Valley, West Coast, A10, etc) and some high major programs. I feel that strongly in his ability to not only produce more than the guys across from every possession, but in Dodd’s ability to improve overall as a player. The work ethic, game understanding, and will to improve is there and if you need a visual just look at his all around numbers from this winter. What I really love about Alonzo is that he is writing his own story, walking his own path. South St. Paul has been down over the years but Dodd went there and is staying there to be a catalyst. There are a lot of guys that can be “next up” at schools, Dodd is writing his own script. So far Minnesota and Cal are among the high majors to show some interest.
Eli King Eli King 6'2" | PG Caledonia | 2022 State #151 Nation MN of D1 Minnesota 17u (Caledonia). Coming into the summer the top three guys in the state were pretty well set at Cam Heide, Tre Holloman Tre Holloman 6'2" | PG Cretin-Derham Hall | 2022 State #57 Nation MN , and Prince Aligbe Prince Aligbe 6'6" | SF Minnehaha Academy | 2022 State #167 Nation MN . Move over gentlemen, you now get to share space in those national rankings and within the high major recruiting conversations with Eli King Eli King 6'2" | PG Caledonia | 2022 State #151 Nation MN . It didn’t matter if Eli was running the wing and attacking the cup, or handling the basketball and piling up assists, Eli played in a way that led to high major offers coming in after each event. Eli is one of the most explosive athletes in the state of Minnesota plus has the size and versatility to play off the ball as well. Looking like a top 100-125 ranked prospect nationally.
Ahjany Lee Ahjany Lee 6'9" | C Byron | 2022 State #145 Nation MN of D1 Minnesota Prospects 17u (Byron). Last January Ahjany Lee Ahjany Lee 6'9" | C Byron | 2022 State #145 Nation MN was a new name playing his first varsity games just getting used to playing varsity basketball freshly growing into a 6-foot-7 body. A half a year later Lee is a high major offered (Iowa) forward that has grown a couple more inches and is competing fiercely while playing up a grade level. He went from “who is that?” to being a “marked man” that older players were gunning for. And you know what? He still averaged double digit summer rebounding numbers while blocking 3-4 shots a game. Lee went head to head with some of the best in the state of and showed the type of promise that could make him a top 150 prospect nationally.
BJ Omot BJ Omot 6'8" | PF Mankato East | 2022 State #231 Nation MN of D1 Minnesota (Mankato East). For BJ Omot BJ Omot 6'8" | PF Mankato East | 2022 State #231 Nation MN all the measureables are there. He’s a long armed skilled wing at 6-foot-6 that you can have push the basketball, or if needed you can move him to a stretch four to keep length on a player. Omot can run the floor off the ball and make explosive plays on the move within the framework, or he can be the playmaker. The potential is all there for BJ to be a fantastic defender plus a skilled big wing. One division one school has offered, many others are calling, and if this winter he makes the expected progressions with the Cougars, a whole new world of opportunity will come his way.
Tre Holloman Tre Holloman 6'2" | PG Cretin-Derham Hall | 2022 State #57 Nation MN of Howard Pulley (CDH). Yes you can be a stock riser even if you are one of the best point guards in the nation. What caught my eye – again – was Tre Holloman Tre Holloman 6'2" | PG Cretin-Derham Hall | 2022 State #57 Nation MN willing a team to many victories over older, quality basketball players. First off, Tre is a willing passer who is also a fantastic athlete that explodes to the rim to make big plays. And he also has the potential to rank with the best defenders you will ever see. That stuff is clear. To me what separates Tre Holloman Tre Holloman 6'2" | PG Cretin-Derham Hall | 2022 State #57 Nation MN is his ability to get the players around him to follow his lead. Very few players have the ability to lift those around them like Tre does and man do they follow with everything they have. To me that takes what Tre can do physically and court IQ wise, and then pushes it to another level.
