We are all still hopeful for the HS season will happen. If it does take place in the fall or maybe even the spring, I want to take a look at the top players in each region plus make some way too early rankings.

This region may have the most overall talent in 6A even though many studs did transfer away from their AIA teams.

You can pick a coin with many of these teams places of 1st-5th. I think the Broncos can win the region and easily be a Final-4 contender yet I picked them 2nd, which goes to show how good this region really is.

Let’s more over to the 6A Premier region predictions followed by the top players:

1. Chandler

-Coach Rother lost a junior stud guard but still have a tough front line and good guards on the roster.

2. Brophy Prep

-Coach Hooten has a deep group of guards and wings with adequate size to compete with the two big teams of Chandler and Perry.

3. Perry

-Coach Duane Jr lost Region POY, but they still have just as much talent as anyone in the region and are helped by the addition of Red Mountain transfer [player_tooltip player_id="973815" first="Kyle" last="Waters"].

4. Hamilton

-Coach Harris lost a lot of senior talent but he always has a wave of talent with a big pool of players from the largest school.

5. Basha

-Coach Grothaus lost a soph stud and set them back a little on a team that was primed to make a deep run this season with an older core of players. They are still a playoff team but in one of toughest regions in AZ, they may be at the bottom of the Premier region.

Top seniors:

[player_tooltip player_id="809671" first="Isaiah" last="Broady"] (Chandler)

-One of the more talented seniors in the region and AIA. He has insane length and skill from the perimeter. He really plays the role of a bigger guard who will defend from inside and out.

[player_tooltip player_id="809683" first="Nicholas" last="Riley"] (Chandler)

-A true bug man carves out space deep in the paint to do his best work. He is a force rebounding the ball and blocking shots. He carried the Wolves in last years playoffs.

[player_tooltip player_id="809690" first="Darian" last="Masi"] (Chandler)

-A super bouncy post player that springs up in a blink of an eye. He is a high flyer/rim runner type who brings energy to every game he plays.

[player_tooltip player_id="809699" first="Carson" last="Kelly"] (Chandler)

-A quick ball handler who can score it from all 3 levels. When he is playing well. it is hard to beat them. He has nice court vision and a nasty pull-up.

[player_tooltip player_id="959021" first="Elijah" last="Johnson"] (Chandler)

-A glue guy who does a lot of the dirty work inside. He is more of an undersized post player who will score it in the paint and defend.

[player_tooltip player_id="942125" first="Desi" last="Burrage"] (Brophy Prep)

-A tough on-ball defender is a true two-way player. He shoots the ball well from the perimeter and is very tough with his stocky frame to defend.

[player_tooltip player_id="959681" first="Kayden" last="Davis"] (Brophy Prep)

-The Broncos pure PG is strong, tough and smart. He makes good decisions with the ball and can get into the lane.

[player_tooltip player_id="809735" first="Quentin" last="Cibulka"] (Brophy Prep)

-The sharp shooter will spread the floor. He has a quick trigger and he can shoot the 3 with consistency.

[player_tooltip player_id="703821" first="Christian" last="Tucker"] (Perry)

-A true scoring guard who is very fast with the ball. He is polished from mid range and can make the deep 3. He does make plays for others and can defend his own position. He will most likely avg more points this season.

[player_tooltip player_id="809726" first="Austin" last="Hutchings"] (Perry)

-A pure PG who can shoot and make plays for others. He will take pressure off of Tucker.

[player_tooltip player_id="809705" first="Jacob" last="Enriquez"] (Hamilton)

-A versatile forward can score it from inside and out. He works best from mid and in and uses his length on the glass and on the perimeter.

[player_tooltip player_id="991884" first="Andrew" last="Hinkle"] (Hamilton)

-The true glue guy of the program may not be too tall, but plays with a motor and toughness. Two skills that you can’t teach. He can score it from inside and uses his strength to rebound.

[player_tooltip player_id="809720" first="Adrian" last="Galindo"] (Hamilton)

-A pure PG is very talented and a gifted ball handler with incredible quickness. He also happens to be a stud soccer player, so he may not play hoops his senior season. Although the Huskies always have depth, it would be a big loss.

[player_tooltip player_id="809678" first="Trenton" last="McLaughlin"] (Basha)

-One of the top shooters in the AIA. He will easily avg 20 points per game and most likely lead the region in 3’s made.

[player_tooltip player_id="809721" first="Thomas" last="Hastings"] (Basha)

-Another top Bears player is more of the pure PG. He is very smart off the pick and roll game and always seems to find the open man. He keeps getting a little bigger every year and better. Like McLaughlin, he also can sling it from deep.

George Moukhtarov W 6’1 (Basha)

-A sturdy framed shooter is smart and crafty. He can space the floor with 3’s and look for him to improve on his scoring with more opportunity next season.

Top juniors:

[player_tooltip player_id="826996" first="Patrick" last="Chew"] (Brophy Prep)

-He played towards the end of the year and the team won immediately. He may take another big leap next season taking more of a lead role. The two-way player shoots it consistently from the perimeter and will defend the 1-3.

[player_tooltip player_id="827020" first="Trey" last="Phillips"] (Brophy Prep)

-A bouncy forward only played JV last year due to his injury. He barely played any games but was impressive in those games from rim running, rebounding and blocking shots.

[player_tooltip player_id="701251" first="Miles" last="Nash"] (Brophy Prep)

-Another pure PG for the Broncos. He has a tight handle and has made strides each season with his shooting. He uses a burst to get into the lane and make plays for him or others.

[player_tooltip player_id="706706" first="JP" last="Musselman"] (Brophy Prep)

-Another star JV player from last year. He is another explosive forward who can defend and score from the perimeter plus grabs rebounds out of area. He is also a sneaky good passer!

Trey Hollis PG 5’10 (Chandler)

-With the loss of junior guard Mason, Hollis will need to come off the bench and be a factor. He is a sturdy ball handler and has good speed to defend on the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id="701228" first="Dylan" last="Anderson"] (Perry)

-The big man is one of the more gifted on the West Coast from his class. Not many have a prettier looking J then Anderson has from mid to the 3pt line. He will be asked to gobble up more boards and should be the main offense and have more touches coming his way.

[player_tooltip player_id="973815" first="Kyle" last="Waters"] (Perry)

-A big transfer from Red Mountain. He would of been a possible POY candidate in the East Valley region. He can score it from inside and out and has a good handle plus is sneaky athletic.

[player_tooltip player_id="973585" first="Eli" last="Burland"] (Perry)

-A pure PG who can make next level reads. He is an advanced passer and whips the ball up the court. He can make the 3 when left open.

[player_tooltip player_id="827002" first="Aaron" last="Foote"] (Hamilton)

-One of the better shooters in the class from the forward position locally. He shot 44% from the 3 on JV and will look to launch his shots on varsity next season.

[player_tooltip player_id="973578" first="Jalen" last="Lee"] (Hamilton)

-A pure PG who is smart, crafty and makes plays for others. He is a true insurance policy if Galindo can not play next season.

[player_tooltip player_id="827031" first="Brady" last="Reynolds"] (Basha)

-The burly forward will be a force next year in the paint. He can handle it a little and has good hands with strength to rebound and score around the basket.

Top sophs:

[player_tooltip player_id="831117" first="Arman" last="Madi"] (Brophy Prep)

-The soph may make a big leap up in production next season. He was a rare varsity player on the team last year and I think he will play bigger minutes and be in the rotation. It is an already deep team but his athleticism and skill will be a big help.

[player_tooltip player_id="831114" first="Cody" last="Williams"] (Perry)

-The soph with the most experience in the region is Williams. He grew another inch recently and keeps improving his game from scoring to facilitating.

[player_tooltip player_id="831115" first="Kevin" last="Patton Jr"] (Perry)

-The long athletic forward is one of the sleepers of the region. He missed all of last season with an injury and he has become taller and has improved his bounce and skill. Look for him to be in the rotation this season.

[player_tooltip player_id="1014670" first="Ty" last="Sandoval"] (Basha)

-The undersized guard is a true PG. He has a tight handle and is very quick with the ball and will handle the duties when Hastings is on the bench and/or can play alongside him.
