ShoreShots 16/17U Top Standouts

<p>The ShoreShots 15U team had its practice yesterday, leaving the 16U and 17U teams to workout today. The teams are full of talented players who are ready to make an impact on the next level. Here are the top standouts from ShoreShots 16U/17U practice.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="957951" first="Kobe" last="Jerome"], 6’3 PG Blue Ridge School (VA) 2021</strong></p> <p>Jerome was hard to guard throughout the session, proving why he will be playing Division 1 basketball. The 6’3 guard has a nice handle and knows how to finish around the rim. Jerome competed during the 3-on-2 transition drills as he scrapped for the ball every time. He shot the ball with confidence during the 5-on-5 games and put pressure on the defense by pushing the tempo. Jerome is a skilled lead guard who should have a strong season for the ShoreShots 17U team.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="850514" first="DiAndre" last="South"], 6’3 SG Pope John XXIII 2021</strong></p> <p>South is one of the most explosive athletes in the 2021 class, which was on full display during the session. The athletic 6’3 guard was finishing above the rim with authority, but also made several dexterous layups in traffic. South has a nice release on his jumper and was not afraid to pull up during the 5-on-5 games. He has a good handle and uses his athleticism to sky for rebounds. South is a tremendous athlete who should have a big summer for the ShoreShots.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1016639" first="Evan" last="Perez"], 5’9 PG Elizabeth 2021</strong></p> <p>Perez is one of the toughest guards in the 2021 class, which he proved throughout the practice. The 5’9 scrapped for every rebound during the 3-on-2 transition drills, winning battles against much bigger defenders. Perez was hard to guard in the 1-on-1 drills as he made several tough finishes around the basket. He ran the offense well during the 5-on-5 games and made several nice passes throughout the practice. Perez is the gritty point guard who will help the ShoreShots 17U team this summer.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1012961" first="Jack" last="Collins"], 6’5 SG/SF Manasquan 2021</strong></p> <p>Collins stood out during the practice as he showed off his versatile skillset. The 6’5 wing has a quick release on his jumper and was able to use his size to get his shot off. Collins attacked the basket hard during the live sessions and handled the ball well during the 1-on-1 hostage drill. He played solid defense throughout the practice and even earned himself an easy steal and layup during the 5-on-5 game. Collins is a skilled wing prospect who is ready to have a strong summer for the ShoreShots 17U team.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1017708" first="Dane" last="Moran"], 6’8 PF CBA 2021</strong></p> <p>Moran was the tallest player at the practice and asserted his dominance during the 5-on-5 games. The 6’8 forward bullied his way to a couple of easy buckets, but also showed off a nice touch around the basket. Moran has a nice release on his jumper and he knocked down several mid-range jumpers. He ran the floor hard throughout the practice and did not make it easy for opponents to score down low.
