Lakeville South will be one of the top contenders for the state title next season. The Cougars highlight the ten best talents in 1AAAA.

Five Best

[player_tooltip player_id="850718" first="Evan" last="Dushek"] of Owatonna (Jr). Scored 20 a game this winter pushing the Huskies into the top five of the Big Nine. One of the strongest screens in the state, also has one of the best touches in the paint in his class.

[player_tooltip player_id="774732" first="Riley" last="Mahlman"] of Lakeville South (Sr). Mahlman is another of the better true centers in the state of Minnesota. Mahlman is a three year varsity talent already with an excellent back to the basket game. With Riley in the middle the Cougars have a chance at a state title.

[player_tooltip player_id="774771" first="Avery" last="Mast"] of Lakeville South (Jr). We think this winter will be a breakout year for [player_tooltip player_id="774771" first="Avery" last="Mast"]. As a sophomore he was all league and is respected by his peers as one of the best players in his class. That said, Avery has the talent to take a big step forward.

[player_tooltip player_id="774734" first="Reid" last="Patterson"] of Lakeville South (Sr). Few players can shoot the ball as well as [player_tooltip player_id="774734" first="Reid" last="Patterson"]. In fact, he is one of two pure shooters (at the wing spot) in Minnesota’s 2021 class that I feel D1 programs should be evaluating closely after every weekend of July play.

[player_tooltip player_id="774831" first="Michael" last="Sharp"] of Rochester Mayo (Sr). Picking the final player for the top five was tough but I went with [player_tooltip player_id="774831" first="Michael" last="Sharp"] who was one of the most improved players in the state last year. Sharp made 43 percent of his threes last year scoring 11 a game for a Mayo team that had Mason and [player_tooltip player_id="846106" first="Gabe" last="Madsen"].

Five More

Isaak Ask of Farmington (Sr). An aggressive basket attacking guard that scored 14 a game as a junior.

Sam Fluehe of Lakeville South (Jr). Sam is another player that I expect to make a massive jump, he is a tough wing that does whatever a coach asks.

[player_tooltip player_id="957618" first="Mo" last="Hammadelniel"] of Rochester (Sr). Mo earned his way on this list after we saw him play this past weekend, talented guard who we will talk more about today in the Jammin in July article.

[player_tooltip player_id="958680" first="Kyle" last="Hrncir"] of Farmington (Jr). Kyle’s a 6-foot-5 wing that averaged 12.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 2.8 assists a game as a sophomore starter.

Kip Schetnan of Northfield (Sr). The lone Northfield all league talent last year, Kip led the Raiders in scoring.

[player_tooltip player_id="958681" first="Brayden" last="Williams"] of Owatonna (Jr). Brayden is the sleeper of this list. Still making a name for himself state wide, Brayden was All Big Nine as a sophomore scoring 15 a contest.
