Time to dive into our Region Ranking Series! In this series we will look at the best prospects from a specific area in the class of 2022! Here are our top Chicago West Suburbs Prospects in the rising junior class!

#1 [player_tooltip player_id="863582" first="Jaden" last="Schutt"] (Yorkville Christian)

Schutt has established himself as one of the premier shooters in my time covering prospects in Illinois. The 6’5” wing has picture perfect form on his shot. Gets elevation off the floor and hits them at an insanely high clip. As a sophomore he showcased a lethal step back shot from mid-range. Solid athlete with size and an elite skill.

#2 [player_tooltip player_id="925183" first="Braden" last="Huff"] (Glenbard West)

Huff is a long and thin 6’9” power forward. The lefty is a face up four that can stretch the floor with his shooting out to beyond the three point arc. Excellent passer, can put it on the deck, and has a touch around the hoop. Once he adds strength he will be an absolute force!

#3 [player_tooltip player_id="863595" first="Matthew" last="Volkening"] (Marengo)

Volkening showcased in his junior film what we already knew. He is an elite level shooter. Quick and easy release helped him average 19 points a game this past season as a sophomore. The 6’5” wing can put it on the deck better than we had previously given him credit.

#4 [player_tooltip player_id="863598" first="Bobby" last="Durkin"] (Hinsdale South)

Durkin is the younger brother of Lewis commit [player_tooltip player_id="817728" first="Billy" last="Durkin"]. Bobby is a wing with size and can shoot it really well. Super deep range on his three point shot. Also knocks down mid-range pull ups like they are going out of style. Will see a much bigger role for Hinsdale South this upcoming season.

#5 [player_tooltip player_id="996060" first="Caden" last="Pierce"] (Glenbard West)

Pierce is another skilled shooting wing (seeing a trend?). The Glenbard West wing can let it fly from deep, but is also more than adequate putting it on the deck and finishing with creativity around the cup.

#6 [player_tooltip player_id="863619" first="Ben" last="VanderWal"] (Timothy Christian)

VanderWal is another wing that is at his best shooting it from the perimeter. The 6’5” small forward knocks down shots at a high rate from beyond the arc. Also cuts well to the basket off the ball for buckets on the move.

#7 [player_tooltip player_id="771543" first="Timaris" last="Brown"] (St. Patrick)

Brown has been a productive player early in his career for St. Patrick. The lefty 6’5” small forward plays with a nice combination of power and skill. He really likes to work in that mid-range area as a shooter and being able to put it on the deck a couple of dribbles.

#8 [player_tooltip player_id="925201" first="Sean" last="Paige"] (Willowbrook)

Paige is a power forward that emerged during his sophomore season for Willowbrook. The 6’7” four man is a strong low post player that has sound footwork and is a quality post defender. Can shoot it a little and rebounds at a high rate.

#9 [player_tooltip player_id="925230" first="Zeke" last="Williams"] (Naperville North)

Williams sophomore tape really impressed us. The 6’3” two guard has long arms and is a slick ball handler taking his opponents off the bounce. Shot it at a high percentage from three last season and is a quality defender.

#10 [player_tooltip player_id="863630" first="Ethan" last="Ivan"] (Batavia)

This 6’4” small forward is a plus shooter with sound form off the catch from three. Light on his feet and makes quick decisions with the ball in his hands.
