Prep Hoops A-Town Showdown 2021 Georgia Forwards (Part 1 of 2)

<p>This is my in-depth scouting report on the standout forwards at the Prep Hoops A-Town Showdown. These were the players that caught my eye from Georgia. This tournament was a fantastic showcase of all of the talent in the area, many of which will receive a major uptick in recruiting! Be on the lookout for the rest of my coverage from this event!</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="806775" first="Kai" last="Simmons"] 2021 6’8 St. Francis High School</p> <p>Kai is a strong paint finisher who is a force down low. He displayed great use of drop steps to get to better positioning underneath the rim. He is great on both sides of the glass and is really dominant utilizing his strength and fighting for positioning. I would like to see more development in his ball-handling and ability to get by defenders in a face-up situation.</p> <p>Jaheim Robinson 2021 6’7 Johnson High School</p> <p>Jaheim is an athletic lob finisher and a tremendous presence in the paint. He is great at sliding over and protecting the rim and clearing the boards for his team. He is an incredible ball-handler for his size and displayed the ability to take a rebound coast to coast and finish in traffic. There was a particular play where he got the ball off the glass, spun off a defender underneath his own basket, and ran the length of the court before spinning off another defender and finishing on the other side of the rim. This play was to end the half and he even finished the And One opportunity. Be on the lookout for this kid’s stock to rise tremendously! I would like to see a better ability to shoot off the dribble, but with his size and ball-handling he can easily dominate with his head down getting to the rim.</p> <p>Darrion Salery 6’9 2021 Success Unlimited High School</p> <p>Darrion is a huge interior presence with very agile feet who displayed great athleticism and ability to run the floor and even cover guards and quicker wings on the defensive end. He is great at running the floor and keeping in his lane in the full court to space the floor for others. In the half-court, he is intelligent at fronting the post, and flashing to the rim and sealing off his defender to get an easy look underneath the basket.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="806639" first="Ross" last="Shepherd"] 2021 6’6 Atlanta Timberwolves White 17U- Pope High School</p> <p>Ross is a large wing that can stretch the floor and knock down shots behind the arc. He has great mobility and is able to run the floor and get easy looks at the bucket. He is a heads-up player who is good at making the right decision in the half-court. He is great at finding weak spots around the paint and filling space around the arc and midrange to open offense for his teammates. On the defensive end, he came away with multiple blocks and made a real difference on the defensive side of the ball for his team.</p>
