Havoc in the Heartland: Illinois Recruiting Notebook

Over the last week we have had tons of coverage from the Havoc in the Heartland event this past weekend in Indy. We caught up with several prospects to see where their recruitments stand in Havoc in the Heartland: Illinois Recruiting Notebook! He is a strong bodied classic five that anchored on both ends. He scored an offer from Western Illinois after the event. Also recently secured a scholarship from UW-Milwaukee. Mathews tells us North Dakota and South Dakota are talking to him a lot. The powerful scoring wing from Kankakee tells PHI he holds one offer right now from Chicago State. He tells us he has been in touch a lot with University of Indianapolis and Illinois-Springfield. He told us while he doesn’t have any offers he has been talking actively with Loras, Case Western, University of Chicago, UW-Oshkosh, Minot State, Grinnell, and Platteville. He mauled on the glass and scored in the paint with efficiency. As for his early recruitment he said he has been talking with D1 schools Western Michigan, UIC, and Princeton. The 6’5” two guard told us the only school that is on him early is Arkansas Pine Bluff. A few D2 and small colleges have reached out for basketball, but nothing significant yet. The scoring guard out of Solorio is actively hearing from Tulsa, Colorado State, and Valparaiso. He tells us that he has received interest from D1 to D3 schools. Some of the D1s that have expressed varying degrees of interest include Indiana State, Princeton, and Western Michigan.
