Joseph Rodriquez (HIT)
This Taft 6’5” wing is a strong bodied forward with positional size. He was at his best putting his head down and getting to the rack. Finisher in transition and showed some shake in the half court.
Donald Davis (HIT)
Davis is a 6’2” point guard from Glenbard North. Active on ball defender that made an impact on that end of the floor. Offensively he was quick off the dribble with the rock in his hands.
Austin Ford (lllinois Jaguars)
Leo has a recent history of talented point guard play. Ford is another player who fits the description with his burst getting to the rim for under the rim layups. Also gets after it on the defensive end.
Jordan Streeter (Illinois Jaguars)
Streeter was one of two Whitney Young 2022 products that jumped off the floor to us over the weekend. The 6’6” small forward has a long and lanky build. He took it to the rim over and over on straight line takes. Bounce at the cup. Also connected on a three. Like the two way potential here.
Matt Sommerville (Illinois Hoopstars)
Sommerville is a 6’6” small forward also from CPS power Whitney Young. All around quality athlete that made an impact on both ends. He was quick to the offensive glass for put backs. Made a couple nice dishes off a live dribble. Drilled a mid-range jumper. On the defensive end he had an impressive swat. The Dolphins could have something in these two wings.
Evan Ortiz (Chi-Town Warriors)
Ortiz is a Chicago Christian 6’0” guard that caught our attention. The lefty plays with creativity off the bounce scoring on drives. Active defender in the backcourt as well.
Donzelle Cooke (Chi-Town Warriors)
This Thornwood 2022 product was playing up on the 17U team. Strong guard that used his physicality well taking it right at his defenders over and over again for scores and dunks in the paint. One to watch moving forward!
Garrett Bolte (Illinois Storm)
Hinsdale South 6’5” big man was a new name that we took note of. Good size and frame. Quality area rebounder. He got on the offensive glass for several put backs. Played with strength around the hoop.
Fawaz Sukurat (Illinois Hoopstars)
Sukurat is a developmental post to track. Already has quality size at 6’8”. The five man from Sullivan is oozing with upside. Extremely bouncy around the basket with offensive rebounds and defensively he is a rim protector coming from the weak side. Surprised us when he stepped out to drill a three looking pretty confident in doing it.
Dalion Morton (Old Gold)
Morton was the other Kenwood wing that made an impression on us at the event. The 6’4” shooting guard runs the floor with a purpose in transition. Liked how he shot the ball in the 15-18 foot range.
Mikey Brown (The Work Foundation)
Brown is a guard that is primed to make an impression this upcoming season. The shifty point guard pushed in the open floor off turnovers, had a nifty scoop shot, and drilled pull up jumpers consistently.
Jermaine Knaff (Illinois Hoopstars)
The Quincy 6’4” wing brings athleticism to the table at the wing spot. He handled it very well in the open floor and got to the rim with some consistency. Smooth prospect with some developmental potential.
