This past weekend, we spent time in the gym checking in on some top talent in the state at the George Hill Invitational. Today, we recap the event looking at the best 2023’s we saw from this past weekend.

Jacob Franklin - 6’0 PG 2023 - Lawrence Central (IN) / Team Teague 2023
Jacob is a strong, lead guard with a frame that should work now and in the future. He’s got some speed, not overly quick but enough to play the position. He’s really good as a perimeter scorer with a capable jumper and has some toughness in the lane.

[player_tooltip player_id="868226" first="Jayden" last="Pinkston"] - 6’5 PF 2023 - Indianapolis Tindley (IN) / Team Teague 2023
Jayden is a long, rangy forward that plays best when in and around the rim. Can get out in transition and has enough handles to help. Aggressive at the rim and looking to dunk whenever he can. Tons of length and some bounce that should continue to develop. Release on his jumper is hard and low, will need to refine that as he develops. Has a chance to spread out and play on the perimeter with time.

[player_tooltip player_id="868243" first="Keyon" last="Garrett-Miller"] - 5’10 PG 2023 - Southport (IN) / Team Teague 2023
Keyon is a lightning quick in the open floor, good passing and vision. Utilizes his speed really well and can get the ball up the floor in a hurry. He’s great in the open floor with that and makes plays left and right. Has a capable jumper and can hit whenever he needs to. Needs some development in the half court game as a driver in the lane but upside is still high at this age.

[player_tooltip player_id="935724" first="Christian" last="Johnson"] - 6’1 SG 2023 - Parke Heritage (IN) / Team Teague 2023
Christian is a big, strong guard that can play on or off the ball but played well this weekend as a wing shooter and driver. Has the ability to mix and match his scoring avenues well and has a good feel for when to use it. Showed his strength a ton and was able to help around the boards when needed.

[player_tooltip player_id="868220" first="Ashton" last="Williamson"] - 6’2 SG 2023 - Calumet (IN) / 94 Feet Elite 2023
Williamson is a big guard that has a ton of top-end speed and athleticism while still being a pretty well-rounded scorer. Jumper looks solid and he has the mechanics and touch to light it up. Had a few showcase dunks in these games. He’s got a chance to play on the ball if things trend that way but his high-level scoring ability mixed with his mental approach to just attack makes him a fit anywhere.

[player_tooltip player_id="935722" first="Mason" last="Jones"] - 6’8 PF 2023 - Valparaiso (IN) / 94 Feet Elite 2023
Mason is a growing big that has added really good strength already and maybe added an inch or so in height to get him to 6’7+. A little more of a focus in the post game right now but can still stretch out to the wing. Has some toughness to him so mixing it up inside isn’t an issue. Didn’t see as much of the perimeter game we have seen previously but was still productive all day long.

[player_tooltip player_id="868227" first="Kamari" last="Slaughter"] - 6’2 SG 2023 - Portage (IN) / 94 Feet Elite 2023
Slaughter is a big guard who is built like a football prospect. Wide shoulders and some length. Does well with the ball in his hands but best when he can play with some open space. Not really a shooter but can slash and finish at a good clip in the lane. If he can develop the jumper to be solid, he’s got a chance to move up pretty quickly.

D.J. Moss - 6’2 SF 2023 - Gary 21st Century (IN) / 94 Feet Elite 2023
Big guard with good size and skill. He’s a good shooter especially if given space. High-release and enough handles to get into better position. Might be more of a wing when is all said and done as he’s looking like he has more size to tap into. Not quick but smooth and strong in the lane. Solid athleticism and ability to play above the rim.
