With a AAU season starting up as soon as this weekend, it’s time to preview some AAU teams. We continue with a solid 2021 Kentucky Select team from Northern Kentucky.

Player to Watch:

[player_tooltip player_id="923064" first="Grant" last="Profitt"]. Grant, like [player_tooltip player_id="923048" first="Tyler" last="Bush"], was a standout at our PH 250 last fall and showed some playmaking and scoring skills. He’s a good rebounder for his size and scored 20 points per game as a Junior. He could be a steal for any D3 school and could play scholarship level, in my opinion. Without having to carry the team’s offense, Grant should get cleaner looks this summer than he enjoyed this past high school season.

X Factor:

Jacob Deere. A 6’6 face up 5 or stretch 4, Deere has the ability to score the ball inside or out. His biggest limitation is a lack of foot speed but he could really offset that as a prospect if he can become a better out of area rebounder. As a Junior, he only pulled down 4 rebounds per game. If he can show the ability to get 8-10 rebounds per game, he can prove himself to be a solid small college prospect.

Potential Surprise:

[player_tooltip player_id="923048" first="Tyler" last="Bush"]. He’s got the size to be a college wing but he hasn’t shown the ability to be much of a slasher thus far, preferring to float around the 3 point line instead. If Bush will become a more aggressive slasher and more active rebounder, he could see D2 and NAIA offers coming his way. Tyler flashed a lot of potential at our PH 250 Camp last August and could be a scholarship level player if he stops relying on outside shooting and does more to affect the game.
