Prep Hoops Missouri takes a look at a group of talented Class of 2021 point/combo guards who appear in the updated rankings that are flying under the radar, but can really get the job done.

[player_tooltip player_id="824178" first="Ryce" last="Piper"] 6’2" Hartville: A talented small-school standout who led the Eagles to the Class 2 state championship. He has good size and plays with a lot of poise and savvy with an excellent command of his team. He rebounds well for a guard and will hand out dimes to open teammates. As a junior, he averaged 18 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.1 assists while shooting 49 percent from the field.

[player_tooltip player_id="824194" first="Phillip" last="March"] 5’10" Soldan: A very talented combo guard with a scorer's mentality. He is a bucket-getter with a smooth shooting stroke from anywhere. He is a very good 3-point shooter who can also create his own shot off the dribble with a variety of escape moves. He also does a good job of coming off screens. As a junior, he averaged 14.3 points, four assists and two steals a game while shooting 41 percent from 3-point range.

Drew McMillin 5'11" Republic: A very capable guard with a sweet shooting stroke from beyond the 3-point line. He is very good at moving without the ball and coming off screens to get himself open. He does his work before he catches the ball and has a quick release. He is a very good rebounder for a guard of his size. He can operate well with the ball as well as without the ball in his hands.

[player_tooltip player_id="824209" first="Preston" last="Fortner"] 5’9’ Francis Howell: The small point guard stepped into the big shoes of graduated standout Daylan Dalton to make a big impact in the Vikings' 28-2 season and Class 5 state quarterfinals berth. He is quick with solid handles and a very effective pull up jumper on the move. He handles pressure well and plays good on-ball defense. As a junior, he averaged 8.1 points, 5.5 assists and 2.4 steals while shooting 37 percent from 3-point range.

[player_tooltip player_id="824211" first="Sonny" last="Amabile"] 5’9" Windsor: The Jefferson County standout is the consummate pass-first point guard who plays the guard to serve others. He is a fine ball handler who can beat defensive pressure while keeping his team organized and finding open teammates. He can also hit pull up jumpers and 3-pointers when it is time to score. He averaged 11 points and four assists a game with a 2-to-1 assists-to turnover ratio last season.

[player_tooltip player_id="984320" first="Blake" last="Fowler"] 5’11" Campbell: Small-school standout from the bootheel who has been getting serious buckets since his freshman season. He went over the 1,500-point mark last season as he averaged more than 25 points a game. He can score off the dribble and come off screens well to go along with 3-point range. He also does a good job of letting the game come to him.

[player_tooltip player_id="985221" first="Tyliek" last="Moore"] 5’6" Hayti: A small point guard who is capable of making a big impact with his electric speed and quickness. He's quite fearless when he's going into the lane among the bigs, but he can finish well with floaters and short jumpers. He is not afraid of the big moments as he is willing to take big shots in clutch situations.
