Javonte Taylor Javonte Taylor 6'7" | PF Donda Academy | 2023 #41 Nation CA-S (Morgan Park)
Taylor is the top prospect on the board in the 2023 class. The Morgan Park four man didn’t get a ton of tick on the varsity level this past season on a loaded squad. That will change moving forward as he has a tremendous combination of size, skill, and athleticism. The 6’7” face up four man can really shoot the ball from the perimeter with a feathery jumper out to beyond the arc. Plus athlete that can handle, shoot, and finish around the hoop. Younger brother of former Simeon standout Steve Taylor has all the physical tools you look for in a potential national recruit. In-state Illinois has already offered him a scholarship.
Donaven Younger Donaven Younger 6'8" | C Bolingbrook | 2023 State IL (Bolingbrook)
Younger is another 6’7” power forward that sets at the top of the rankings. The Bolingbrook post is so quick and mobile on the interior. He is ultra-smooth finishing around the cup with athleticism playing above the rim. Quality hook shot and has touch out to 12 feet on his jumper. Rim runner in transition. Shot blocking presence on the defensive end. So much upside as a prospect.
Jackson Kotecki Jackson Kotecki 6'9" | PF Saint Ignatius | 2023 State IL (St. Ignatius)
Kotecki has created some buzz as he could be one of the next stars in the Catholic League. The athleticism he brings to the table as a post jumps off the floor at you. Combine that with his ability to stretch the floor to beyond the arc and you really have something!
Owen Freeman Owen Freeman 6'10" | C Moline | 2023 State #179 Nation IL (Bradley Bourbonnais)
Freeman’s freshman tape was very impressive. The 6’7” five man has fluid post moves being able to score with quick and assertive takes on the block. Brings athleticism to the table playing above the rim on both ends of the floor. Rebounds well in and out of his area.
Davius Loury Davius Loury 6'8" | PF Phhoenix Prep | 2024 State AZ (Simeon)
Well-built 6’5” power forward that has a physical upper body at a young age. Active rebounder that snatches them in traffic. He has a little bit of handles and creativity to his game for a big guy.
Keon Alexander Keon Alexander 6'6" | PF Bolingbrook | 2023 State IL (Bolingbrook)
Alexander is a 6’5” power forward that is super bouncy around the hoop. Uses his quickness and second jump to get on the offensive glass for second chance points. His length and athleticism play well on the defensive end. Should make an impact on the varsity level next season.
Matas Buzelis Matas Buzelis 6'9" | SF Sunrise Christian | 2023 #2 Nation New E (Hinsdale Central)
Lengthy frame at 6’5” with the ability to continue to grow. He is really thin and will definitely need to add strength moving forward. Stretches the floor with his shooting, but there is more to his game. Gets on the glass with his second jump and puts it on the deck with straight line drives.
Cannon Leonard Cannon Leonard 6'10" | C Iroquois West | 2023 IL (Iroquois West)
Leonard is a big boy at 6’8” and 220 pounds. Understands how to score on the block, rebounds well, and is a tough post defender. One to track moving forward!
