The next in the ’Top-140 most impactful in AIA’ countdown, we look at players who just missed.

Remember, these are not player rankings but how much they impact their team along with the talent they go against during the season.

We have already had a couple players move over to the prep world during this journey of the Top-140. I want to look at 16 more who should make an impact.

Here are the eight that just missed:

[player_tooltip player_id="973814" first="Abe" last="Rangel"] (Centennial)

-I mentioned him before. He may just be an elite 6th man or he can be critical in every game and start. This will all hinge on if [player_tooltip player_id="827009" first="Trenten" last="Lavender"] is healthy enough to go full speed on day 1 after his injury. Rangel is definitely good enough to play with anyone. He has good skill and can make plays. Even if he comes off bench, he can impact many games this season.

[player_tooltip player_id="706700" first="Anthony" last="Jaramillo"] (Mountain Pointe)

-The scoring guard helps spread the floor for his teammates to fill the lanes and not have the defense stand in the paint for too long. He made 38% of his 3’s while he was in and he may have a mini breakout season next to Kimbrough Jr, Brown and Williams.

[player_tooltip player_id="827050" first="Brandon" last="Lee"] and [player_tooltip player_id="827024" first="Quin" last="Thorne"] (CDS)

-The two young guards are the new wave for the Aztecs with [player_tooltip player_id="706730" first="Anthony" last="Irvin"] and [player_tooltip player_id="804773" first="Eric" last="Blackwell"] graduating. Lee is tough and skilled and a smart passer. Thorne is poised and skilled who can throw dimes to teammates. These two along with some other youth should get the Aztecs back in the playoffs.

[player_tooltip player_id="827026" first="Marcus" last="Coleman"] (Pueblo)

-The strong Tucson guard is a natural scorer. He should compliment [player_tooltip player_id="809693" first="Zach" last="Morgan"] and form a tough duo to handle down South. He gets downhill plus can make plays for teammates.

[player_tooltip player_id="991884" first="Andrew" last="Hinkle"] (Hamilton)

-A stronger framed forward can score it from inside and out. He prefers to get his points inside off of the glass, cutting to the basket and out working his opponent. He is the glue guy for the Huskies.

[player_tooltip player_id="827014" first="Jo" last="Jo Montgomery"] (Deer Valley)

-The two-way player is a face-up 4-man who can let it fly from deep plus use his athleticism on the glass and defend. He will be impacftul for the Skyhawks for them to get back to the playoffs.

[player_tooltip player_id="991885" first="Malcolm" last="Olexa"] (Sunnyslope)

-With multiple guards transferring out and graduating, Olexa should move into the starting five and make a big imapct. He is tough and can shoot it. He has a nice burst into the lane and can defend his man up the court.
