Today, we take a look at some of the best outside shooters in the ’23 class. These aren’t rankings in any way, but instead a simple list of some, not all, of the best shooters in the sophomore class.

Hayden Llewellyn | 6’2" G | Jellico

The incredible freshman season of Hayden Llewellyn ranks among the best nationwide. Starting for Jellico High, Llewellyn scored 81 three-pointers! Outside shooting is a staple of the Llewellyn diet, but defenders are served with plenty more. Creative passing, tight handles. Llewellyn is an offensive live wire. During his statistical explosion, Hayden earned his way to the free throw line constantly. Imagine his 152 made free throws. Mr. Basketball winner [player_tooltip player_id="775535" first="Johnathan" last="Lawson"] made 165 free throws.

[player_tooltip player_id="992497" first="Jaylen" last="Jones"] | 6’1" PG | East Nashville

One of the most skilled guards in the area, Jaylen made 73 three-pointers in his first high school season. Jaylen scored a fantastic 15.3 ppg and established himself as either the best or second-best ’23 in middle Tennessee.

Rodgerick Robinson | G | Middleton

Robinson finished his freshman season averaging 14.0 ppg, including 32 made three-pointers.

Will Keltner | 5’11” PG | Trinity Christian Academy

During his first go-around Keltner averaged 13.3 points per game and buried 36 outside shots. The competition was a little different than Class AAA or even some Class AA as Keltner’s opponents varied wildly in difficulty: Tipton-Rosemark, ECS, FACS, Natchez, Sacred Heart.

Devaki Garr | G | Ensworth

Teammates and coaches rave about Devaki’s game. The shooting guard started for a 20-win team alongside college-bound guards.

Alex Daniel | 5’8” PG | Lancaster Christian Academy

Alex Daniel did make a decent amount of three-pointers (29) in his freshman season, though he shot a fairly low percentage (34%). Daniel played with Lancaster Christian Academy and faced teams like Boyd Christian, Dayspring Academy, Hendersonville Royals, etc.

Camden Gober | PG | Cleveland

Camden Gober is a skilled catch-and-shoot guy within the powerhouse Cleveland High program. "2023 Sniper Camden Gober is a 3pt specialist," said Cleveland Head Coach Reggie Tucker. "One of the best shooters in our program."

Marcel Reed | G | M.B.A.

Dual-sport star, Marcel Reed plays with loose hips and expert body control. His role with M.B.A. basketball will grow and yet his freshman impact was wonderful. Playing off dynamic guards [player_tooltip player_id="537240" first="Will" last="Montana"] and [player_tooltip player_id="537275" first="Miles" last="Versa"], Reed took and capitalized on his opportunities.
