There is a good mix of talent in Section 4AA and today we wanted to run through ten of the better talents within that section.

[player_tooltip player_id="774790" first="Derek" last="Burgess"] of Cristo Rey Jesuit (2021). Derek scored 13 points a game as a junior plus pulled down five boards. Derek is a solid defender on and off the ball and he’s a good three point shooter. Can handle if his team needs him to as well.

[player_tooltip player_id="774750" first="Erick" last="Burgess"] of Cristo Rey Jesuit (2021). At 6-foot-4 Erick is one of the most versatile guards in his class. He can bring the ball up the floor, cut to a spot, offensively board and finish, and then pressure the ball full court the other direction. Burgess is a quality passer as well leading to his 17 points, 6.5 boards, and 4.5 assists per game.

[player_tooltip player_id="962239" first="AJ" last="Greene"] of Concordia Academy (2023). [player_tooltip player_id="962239" first="AJ" last="Greene"] can play both guard spots which allowed his team to win 20 games a season ago. Greene knocked out 41 percent of his threes plus 81 percent of his foul shots on his way to a 12.6 per game average as a freshman.

[player_tooltip player_id="957607" first="Adam" last="Holod"] of St. Paul Academy (2021). Here is your "colleges, get to know this name" name of this list as far as seniors-to-be go. Adam is coming off of a 22 plus point per game season. He’s a four year starter that has been known to hit scorching levels. There have been four week spans multiple times where this guy hit over 60 percent of his triples! Think of that for a second.

Jahiem Houts of Hiawatha Collegiate (2023). Jahiem is a big wing at 6-foot-5 or 6-foot-6 and he averaged 16.2 points, 9.2 rebounds 6.2 assists, 3.5 steals, and 2.2 blocks a game. A budding talent that is a top 35 player in his class at the moment and if he continues to progress we aren’t just talking a potential scholarship guy, he could be a many scholarship guy. If he continues to progress with age.

[player_tooltip player_id="774859" first="Andrew" last="Howard"] of St. Croix Prep (2021). Howard scored about a dozen a game on one of the best teams in the state last year continuing to show off one of the purest strokes out there. But don’t just label him as a shooter as Andrew is a solid ball handler and passer as well. We look forward to seeing how his game has expanded soon.

[player_tooltip player_id="962222" first="Jessye" last="Lewis Jr"] of Hiawatha Collegiate (2023). In looking at his film and reading what his coach has said about him, Jessye is simply a guy that comes at you hard, and continues to do it over and over. Whatever you give him, he takes advantage leading to a 24 point per game season.

[player_tooltip player_id="958693" first="Carmello" last="McNeal"] of Twin Cities Academy/Great River (2022). Carmello is the bigger of the McNeals standing about 6-foot-2 and playing guard/wing. Carmello is the top returning scorer for his team averaging nearly 15 points a game.

[player_tooltip player_id="958730" first="Carrington" last="McNeal"] of Twin Cities Academy/Great River (2022). Carrington is the more versatile, he’s 6-foot-1 and he’s a fierce player chasing down seven boards a game. Put together about 14 points a game plus dished out nearly five assists a contest.

[player_tooltip player_id="774769" first="Addison" last="Metcalf"] of St. Croix Prep (2021). This is another fantastic versatile player that we are very interested to see as the main option. Make no mistake St. Croix Prep plays great team basketball and they are at their best in this way. Addison fits in this way no matter if he is on the ball, on the wing, or playing actively going near the rim. But Addison’s shooting consistency has grown tremendously and now I think he’s on the verge of a monster senior season.
