Time to dive into our Region Ranking Series! In this series we will look at the best prospects from a specific area in the class of 2022! Here are our top Chicago Catholic League Prospects in the rising junior class!

#1 [player_tooltip player_id="771530" first="Trey" last="Pettigrew"] (Fenwick)

Pettigrew established himself as the top guard in the class with a monster sophomore campaign where he was one of the best guards in the state regardless of class. So dynamic with the ball in his hands. Excellent shooter that can hit off the catch and pulling up with crisp jumpers. Crafty finisher around the hoop that has all the nifty moves to convert. Continues to develop as a distributor each time we see him.

#2 [player_tooltip player_id="925178" first="Kyle" last="Thomas"] (St. Joseph)

Thomas is the highest ranked center in the class overall. The 6’9” center is a strong five man that rebounds very well snatching boards with both hands in traffic. Big time shot blocking presence with how he blocks them straight up, coming from the weakside on drives, and even contests on the perimeter. His offensive game showed growth this season with more fluidity on his low-post moves.

#3 [player_tooltip player_id="863607" first="Nick" last="Harrell"] (Brother Rice)

Harrell is a wing prospect that is oozing upside. The long and angular 6’4” small forward is a slick ball handler slipping through traffic whether it is in the half court or bursting through the hole in transition. Length plays well on the defensive end. Needs to improve as a shooter.

#4 [player_tooltip player_id="925191" first="Andrew" last="Stokes"] (Montini)

Stokes is an ultra-smooth shooting guard that put his name on our map against Thomas and St. Joe’s last season in a CCL matchup. Effortless ball handler that can get to his spots for pull up jumpers or take it all the way to the cup for scores.

#4 [player_tooltip player_id="863597" first="Marcellius" last="Cohen"] (De La Salle)

This is a 6’9” left handed post that has a chance to really elevate up this list during his junior year. When he focuses on using his bounce around the hoop he is a problem!

#5 [player_tooltip player_id="863613" first="AJ" last="Redd"] (St. Ignatius)

Redd is a long and thin two guard that played quality minutes last season for St. Ignatius. Slick ball handler that wins off the bounce changing gears and gliding to the hoop. Flashes passing feel from his wing spot.

#6 [player_tooltip player_id="996065" first="David" last="Gieser"] (Fenwick)

Gieser emerged as a sophomore shooting 42% from beyond the arc. Like Madej he is really good at moving without the ball to set up his shot from deep. These two are going to get so many open looks with Hopkins and Pettigrew!

#7 [player_tooltip player_id="925199" first="Jamil" last="Wilson"] (De La Salle)

Wilson is a long and rangy post that has his best basketball ahead of him. Quick to the glass and has upside as an offensive weapon!

#8 [player_tooltip player_id="863601" first="Gabe" last="Madej"] (Fenwick)

Madej is a gritty wing that has positional size at 6’5” and can really shoot the ball from beyond the arc. High level shot maker off movement.

#9 [player_tooltip player_id="996066" first="Dajuan" last="Bates"] (De La Salle)

Bates is a 6’1" point guard with good length. He brings athleticism, quickness, and the ability to score from all three levels.

#10 [player_tooltip player_id="925217" first="Kolby" last="Gilles"] (St. Ignatius)

Strong bodied undersized 6’5” power forward that plays with a high energy. Good rebounder that brings physicality to the table. Actually an underrated shooter who hit them from three at a 37% clip last year.
