Region 12 has a rich tradition of high level basketball with multi-sport players littered across the region. Every single team in the region will be hurt by the loss of their graduates that contributed so much.
Emery and Richfield have lead the pack in quality play in years past and last year was the same.
Emery will be in a rebuild mode as they only return Riggs Griffin a 6’1 G that was a rotation player will enter his senior year as a player that the Spartans will depend on for scoring.
Richfiled just like Emery doesn’t return a lot of what helped them be successful this past season but they do return Will Robinson and Max Robinson a due that can hep them compete.
The two top teams might take a hit based on what is coming back but don’t count them out as they usually develop their lower level talent.
San Juan on the other hand might have a leg up coming into next season starting with 6’6 Nate Grover who’s size could bother a few of the teams in the region. Look for him to double his production on the glass and in the scoring column.
At South Sevier Landen Payne will have to make a huge step up to hep lead a team that also got hit with the graduation bug that will impact their scoring.
The team that could really make a jump is Carbon. They return two solid players from last years team. 6’5 Preston Condie Preston Condie 6'4" | CG Carbon | 2021 State UT could have a breakout year because he is versatile. He can play inside and out and he will get more touches. He will also be joined by 6’9 Kennan Hatch who could be a double-double type player out there. Noah Bradford is another player at 6’2 that will have a larger impact in their success.
Grand had some players that could score last year but couldn’t win a game in region this past season. They return 6’1 Ryelan Jones who will have his hands full this upcoming year.
Region 12 is a question mark as they do not return a lot of notable players from last season. This could lead to a competitive year.
