Program Preview: The Chosen Few

<p>The Chosen Few always has guys, and over the past few years those guys have made a name for themselves by taking on and beating much older grassroots squads. Coach Abdul Adem created TCF in 2016 after 11 years of being at the helm of the Vegas Bulls. His team’s play with toughness and a sneakers in the trunk, have ball will travel to play anyone anywhere attitude. In this article PH takes a look at some of the key players for the Chosen Few.</p> <p><em>Returners:</em></p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="986798" first="Alijah" last="Adem"] <em>6’0 PG 2024 (#7PHN 2024)</em> - Adem and Bevacqua form one of the toughest 15U backcourts in the state. They complement each other perfectly as both are good shooters and ballhandlers. Adem has incorporated a little wiggle to his game as well, allowing him to free himself for jumpers.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="930659" first="Jake" last="Bevacqua"] <em>5’10 PG 2021 (#9PHN 2023)</em> (featured image) -  Bevacqua is a baby faced assassin that loves to take and make the big shot. He’s going to change speeds and give multiple head fakes. Bevaqua is a knock down shooter at his best in catch and shoot situation.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="985628" first="Giali" last="Chapman"] <em>6’0 PG 2023 (#20PHN 2023)</em> - Chapman gives TCF a tough 3 guard lineup. He can play off or on the ball, and compliments the other two guards well. Chapman can shoot it from deep, or score off the bounce. He excels in both a 6th man role or alongside Adem and Bevacqua.</p> <p>Adonis Lafleur<em> 6’1 SF 2024</em> - Lafleur is a bruising forward that brings it every time he steps on the floor. Ultimate extra possession type guy, Lafleur will run through a wall to help his team win. He’s a good rebounder and driver for the team.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1227293" first="Fern" last="Talavera"] <em>6’3 PF 2023 (#16PHN 2023)</em> - Talavera is a young developing big man, that has improved a lot over the past year. Talavera can finish around the rim with his strong hand, is a good rebounder and can step out and shoot it from 15.</p> <p><em>New Additions</em></p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1006750" first="Rodney" last="Leaks"] <em>6’4 C 2023 - </em>Leaks is a burly 5 man that is destined for greatness on the gridiron. He’s a banger, good low post defender and in area rebounder.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="998503" first="Alexander" last="Ruggeroli"]<em> 6’6 C 2024</em> - Ruggeroli is a big pick up for TCF, literally. A raw big that has loads of potential Ruggeroli has decent hands and can finish over his left shoulder. His size alone should help the squad on the glass.</p> <p><em>Sleepers</em></p> <p><a class="pn-player-link" href="https://prephoops.com/player/amar-smith/"><span class="name-pointer">[player_tooltip player_id="985635" first="LJ" last="Mercurius"] </span></a><span class="name-pointer"><em>6’2 SF 2024 (#28PHN 2024)</em></span> <span class="name-pointer">- I’m not sure if Mercurius even understands how good he can be. A lean, explosive run and jump athlete, he scores off effort and athleticism.
