The second annual Kenny Anderson Showcase took place in Twinsburg Saturday afternoon where 52 players from more than four states participated in a skills competition, dunk contest and scrimmages. Here are some notable players from Ohio who showed out during the event.

[player_tooltip player_id="919045" first="Daryl" last="Houston"], Beachwood

An upcoming senior for the Bison, Daryl Henderson swiftly made a name for himself Saturday afternoon. He’s got an elite handle that allows him to get to the rim often complementing his quickness. He’s got a high basketball IQ and consistently makes plays for his teammates. Houston won tournament MVP.

Malik Simmons, Bedford

An active defender, Malik Simmons was everywhere on the defensive side of the ball. He was constantly trying to make the game’s next big play. Simmons has a high motor and the defensive hustle translated to offensive success as the day went on. The energy and resilience was nearly unmatched and that was something that spoke volume during the showcase.

Ethan Fiedtkou, Walsh Jesuit

Incoming freshman Ethan Fiedtkou was one of two underclassmen at Saturday’s event. The lefty proved to handle pressure well, especially being forced into constant double teams during the scrimmage portion of the event. He’s a tough player who’s able to create space with his dribbles.

Gavin Dobbins, Open Door Christian Academy

It was hard to find a better shooter in the gym than Dobbins who was constantly knocking down 3-pointers all over the court. He’s a relentless player who loves finding space in the corner where he’s known to make a name for himself. He’s more than just a spot-up 3-point shooter as he was able to use his bigger frame well when attacking the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id="855927" first="Keyshawn" last="Hall"], Rhodes

[player_tooltip player_id="855927" first="Keyshawn" last="Hall"] was all over the court for his team. No matter if he was blocking shots, setting up teammates with open shots from the post or creating his own shot, the 6-foot-5 forward proved himself. He even displayed elite ball-handling skills as a big man that really separated him apart from his competition.

Chris Drake, John Hay

Another big man who’s coming off of an impressive junior year, Chris Drake knew when to make the right play when pushing the tempo after an opponent’s missed shot. Drake appeared to make all the right reads during the fast break, using his body well the shield off defenders near the rim as well.

Chris Peoples, East Tech

If there is one thing you should know about Peoples is that he is an impact player; with or without the ball in his hands. On top of that, the rising senior was named the skills champion, displaying a unique ability to get passed defenders while creating space for effective shots.

Chaze Harris, Bedford

The athleticism of Chaze Harris was on full display throughout the event, finishing a myriad of dunks no matter who was near the rim. He’s an explosive athlete who likes to push the ball up the court with no hesitation. His game has ascended this past season after averaging 22.8 points and seven rebounds per game for the Bearcats.

AJ Glover, Independence

Another rising senior who’s explosiveness stole the show was AJ Glover of Independence. He had a series of moves that allowed him to get past his defender where he was able to get more teammates involved for scoring opportunities. Glover is aggressive with the ball and very selfless. He averaged 15 points, seven rebounds and five assists per game as a junior.
