The 2022 class has some quality depth to it and looks like there are a couple of prospects who could make major strides before their Junior year tips off. Here’s a look at some forwards who could make the leap.

[player_tooltip player_id="926897" first="Ben" last="Michel"], South Oldham - The Dragons lost a lot of firepower to graduation and Michel is going to have a chance to carve out a much bigger role next season. Up until now, Ben has been a post player who can step out and shoot a little. It will be interesting to see if he moves to the wing for the most part. South Oldham plays predominantly 5 out motion offense but Michel hasn't had as much of a chance to play through his mistakes on the wing as he should moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id="926900" first="Robby" last="Todd"], Rowan County - Todd was part of a logjam in the post at Dunbar the last two seasons but relocated to Rowan County as his dad (Morehead State's women's coach) moved closer to work. Robby is 6'6 and still growing. He's shown the ability to score inside and out and continues to develop his skills. Most importantly for his development, Todd should get a ton more PT in his Junior season than he did at Dunbar last year.

[player_tooltip player_id="801614" first="Solomon" last="Flener"], Butler County - Flener averaged just under 10 points and 7 rebounds per game last season but will be the primary offensive option for the Bears for the next two seasons. A bit of a combo forward, Solomon does have some ball skills and can pull a rebound and push the break but his bread is buttered on the block where he can score the ball inside of 15 feet as well as anyone in the 3rd region.

[player_tooltip player_id="926915" first="Ian" last="Hart"], McCracken County - Hart only put up 4 points and 2 rebounds last season but the graduation of Jackson Sivils leaves a big hole in the McCracken lineup and Ian should get a chance to step up to help fill the void. Ian is slightly taller than Sivills but nowhere near as skilled right now. If Hart can show a more well rounded game in his Junior season, he could be a difference maker in the 1st region.

[player_tooltip player_id="926937" first="Oliver" last="Harris"], Highlands - His Senior teammates get the headlines but Harris is possibly the key to a regional title run for the Bluebirds next season. His Sophomore stats were modest because he was parked on the block a lot but Harris showed last fall at our PH 250 that he has a good skill level and can put the ball on the floor and is a good passer. Highlands will need a third dependable scorer if they want to win the 9th and Oliver could be the guy to step up.
