Prep Hoops Missouri continues its spotlight on grassroots teams with a look at the Victory Ministry 17U team, which is made up of standouts from Southwest Missouri.

Garrett Almond 6’1" Chanute (KS): A strong shooting guard with is a very good 3-point marksman off the catch, but can use his strength to get to the basket and finish.

[player_tooltip player_id="824208" first="Landon" last="Austin"] 6’0" Neosho: A talented combo guard who can get you buckets at all three levels and play solid defense. He works the pick-and-roll well with the mid-range jumper and the ability to attack down hill. As a junior, he averaged 17 points, 5.8 rebounds. 3.8 assists and 1.9 steals.

Dhruv Gheewala 6’0" Thomas Jefferson: A big-bodied wing player who is very versatile and will always get to where he wants to go on the floor. He is a good passer who is capable of shooting the 3-pointer. He averaged 11 points, five rebounds and four assists as a junior.

[player_tooltip player_id="824193" first="Isaac" last="Hoberecht"] 6’0" Carl Junction: A very talented offensive player with deep 3-point shooting range and a set of creative handles which enable him to attack the basket and work within tight spaces. He is very confident with the ball in his hands.

Khai Howard 5’11" Webb City: A thick-bodied combo guard who is very shifty on the dribble with the strength to finish in the lane in heavy traffic. He plays well in a fast tempo with the ability to pull up from the mid-range or knock down open 3-pointers off the catch.

Zayshon Hughley 6’5" Joplin: A developing post player with good length and plus athleticism. He is a strong finisher at the rim with the ability to throw down dunks in traffic. He is still a work in progress, but he has a nice upside and a father who happens to be 6'10", so he is still possibly growing as well.

Luke Lawson 6’4" Diamond: A rangy wing player with very good athleticism and the ability to knock down perimeter jumpers. He will get into the lane to throw down dunks or jump over defenders for short jumpers. He moves well without the ball to catch and shoot 3-pointers as well.

Tariq Logan 5’11" Coffeyville (KS): A scoring point guard with excellent speed and quickness. His ball handling ability is very good and he uses it to get himself into the lane and finish with relative ease. He excels in the transition game and in a half court setting.

Cohl Vaden 5’9" Webb City (’22): One of the top point guards in the Class of '22, Vaden is playing up a level after helping Webb City to the quarterfinals of the Class 4 state tournament. He has excellent speed and court vision to excel as a scorer and playmaker. He is solid from all three levels offensively and he can also disrupt on defense with his quick hands.

[player_tooltip player_id="824163" first="Joseph" last="Hardimon"] 6’0" Poplar Bluff: An athletic combo guard who is physical and can power his way into the lane to score buckets on tough takes. He has also improved his 3-point stroke over the course of his career which has made him tougher to defend.
