For the second straight weekend, AAU basketball was played in Dallas. After a great first weekend with the Dallas Showtyme Classic, it was Great American Shootout’s turn to host a tournament at the Duncanville Fieldhouse. This tournament featured countless talented teams and I had the opportunity to take in the action on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

[player_tooltip player_id="684406" first="Jalen" last="Lake"] - Texas Impact 4:13 - G

Lake might be the best shooter in DFW and he showed this all weekend long. He has a pretty release and does not need much space to get his shot off. In Texas Impact 4:13’s 64-55 win over Triumph, Lake knocked down five three’s and shot a high percentage. He gets hot from downtown often and is one of the best shooters that I have ever seen.

[player_tooltip player_id="1006614" first="Xavier" last="Savage"] - Texas Legion Elite - G

Savage is an up-and-coming prospect that had a huge weekend shooting the ball. He showed off his ability to shoot the three off-the-dribble and off-the-catch. Savage has good confidence and is consistent. He was easily the best shooter on his team and made some big shots over the course of the weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id="1007230" first="Hamilton" last="Hamm"] - Triumph 17U Gold - G

Hamm is an extremely underrated guard that hits three’s at a consistent rate. His favorite spot is the corner and he seemed to not miss from there. In Triumph’s 64-55 loss against Texas Impact 4:13 on Saturday, Hamm finished with 21 points and five three-pointers.

[player_tooltip player_id="1007248" first="Abdul" last="Beyah"] - Seawolves - G

Beyah has a quick release and does not need much room to get his shot off. He is a volume shooter that is good off-the-dribble and has deep range.

[player_tooltip player_id="1007237" first="Isaac" last="Orozco"] - Strength N Motion - G

Orozco has deep range and a smooth release. He hit three’s consistently from NBA-range and has great confidence. In Strength N Motion’s 70-61 loss to Urban DFW, Orozco kept his team in the game until the final buzzer as he finished with 17 points and five three’s.
