<p> Many of the top players from the state were on hand in Cape Girardeau for the AthElite Select Super 16 Summer Showcase. Pool play action was held on Saturday, but Sunday’s bracket play was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Prep Hoops Missouri got a chance to watch several of the games during Saturday’s pool play. Here is a look at some of those top standouts:</p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="824117" first="Brock" last="Wakefield"] 6’4" Semo Select 17U: The 2021 shooting guard from South Iron put on a dazzling display of marksmanship in his first game in knocking down nine 3-pointers en route to a game-high 31 points. He has tremendous shooting range and the ability to create his own shot off the dribble. He has earned several Division II offers lately with a number of Division I schools showing interest.</p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="984506" first="Nick" last="Kramer"] 6’4" TruVision 17U: The 2022 wing from SLUH led his talented team to a pair of easy victories as he averaged 15 points a game on the day. He displayed an excellent stroke from 3-point distance and a quicker first step to get to the basket off the bounce. He is a physically built guard who can handle the contact. </p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="986530" first="Andrew" last="Ellinghouse"] 6’4" Bullets 17U: The 2021 wing from Dexter scored a game-high 22 points in an afternoon victory. He knocked down some shots from well beyond the 3-point line. He is a solid athlete who moves well without the basket.</p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="991575" first="Aahmod" last="Scarbrough"] 6’2" TruVison 17U: The 2022 guard from St. Louis Christian averaged 15 points in his team's two victories. He is a dynamic athlete who slashes to the basket and excels in transition. He had the 3-point stroke working well on Saturday. He can also impact the game on defense with his athleticism.</p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="824165" first="Keashon" last="Petty"] 5’10" Arsenal Hoops 17U: The 2021 point guard from Parkway North was one of the quickest players in the tournament as his speed was clearly evident in the open court. His pace was very good and he also made very good decisions with the ball as he dropped several nice dimes while on the move.</p>
<p>Alijah Carter 6’2" St. Louis Cobras A.N.M. 17U: An explosive 2021 wing player from Pattonville who stayed in attack mode on both ends of the court. He attacked the basket and finished well in the paint, including a nice tomahawk dunk in traffic. He was also very active on defense with his ball pressure and ability to play the passing lanes with great zeal.</p>
