The top forward in Bergen County will be at Notre Dame next season. [player_tooltip player_id="850320" first="Matt" last="Zona"] dominated the paint for Bergen Catholic for many years and now he will move onto the ACC. This opens the door for the next wave of forwards in Bergen County.

[player_tooltip player_id="900364" first="Dominick" last="Barlow"] (2021) | Dumont

Barlow had a big junior year that sets him up perfectly for his final season. Barlow averaged 23.3 points and 12.6 rebounds per game. He was a double-double machine and finished as one of the top rebounders in the state. Barlow knows how to turn offensive boards into quick points and can turn defense into offense after a block. He will be must see action once the new season begins.

Tyler Koenig (2023) | Waldick

Koenig is the definition of the next generation of strong big men. He is the youngest member on this list and has one of the highest ceilings. Koenig grabbed 9.6 rebounds per game this season and displayed a skill set that is beyond his years. He has quick feet and is in complete control of his body and his game in the post.

Kiel McGee (2021) | Cresskill

McGee can play anywhere on the floor. He is a true stretch four that fits into positionless basketball. McGee averaged over 10 points per game this season and knocked down 20 three’s. He also had enough strength to finish down low with contact and get to the free throw line. He is a forward that can venture out to the perimeter or guard any of the five positions.

Anthony Scrivanich (2022) | New Milford

Scrivanich came in and led New Milford in scoring this season with 11.5 points per contest. He belongs on this list because he will be one of the most dominant bigs in Bergen County over his final two seasons. Scrivanich passes the eye test in every aspect. When watching New Milford, it is hard to deny or ignore any of the physical gifts that Scrivanich has.

Mekhi Cherry (2022) | Waldick

Cherry and Koenig make up a frontcourt that is going to give opposing fits over the duration of two years. Cherry averaged over seven rebounds per game as a sophomore. That is nearly 17 per game from two underclassmen that are going to continue to grow their games. Cherry is another big with a high ceiling. He has a soft touch around the rim and great footwork.

[player_tooltip player_id="900330" first="Grant" last="Holbrook"] (2021) | Ramsey

Holbrook had time to learn from [player_tooltip player_id="850335" first="Sean" last="Hansen"], who was one of the top overall players in Bergen County. Hansen will be at Cornell next season and this leaves Holbrook a great opportunity to become his team’s premiere big. He is a talented played that can score on the block with his back to the basket and that will be on full display during his final season.
