3-Pack: 2021 Guards To Watch

<p>The change in the recruiting cycle is going to be a big change for everyone. Right as we thought we were going to be getting out on the road, we get shut down. So, in order to spend as much effort as we can in getting players seen, we are going to do what we call, 3-Packs. </p> <p>With these, we want to highlight 3 players who are similar in class and position. Get some time to dive into some quick thoughts, stat breakdowns, and film. Today, we are looking at 2021 Guards in [player_tooltip player_id="874175" first="Ethan" last="Higgs"], <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="783145" first="Gus" last="Etchison"]</strong>, and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="783176" first="Isaac" last="Vencel"]</strong>. </p> <p style="text-align: center;"><iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/nPtePV0T7O0" width="560" height="315" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe></p> <p><strong> [player_tooltip player_id="874175" first="Ethan" last="Higgs"] – 6’4 SG 2021 – Evansville Reitz (IN)</strong><br /> <strong>Stats</strong>: N/A <br /> <strong>Thoughts</strong>: Higgs is a tough, aggressive player with a good amount of talent. Loves to go at the defenders and is very quick when he does so. Not the biggest guard but makes up for it with his speed and explosiveness. Pretty solid ball handling skills and could even play more of a lead guard at times. Pretty solid shooter but would love to see him show off his jumper some more. Higgs is in line to take a major step next season for Evansville Reitz. Not the tallest point guard but has a long frame. He is really quick and can shoot the ball and drive to the basket very well. Can breakdown defenders solidly and passes the ball well to his teammates. Looks as though he has added some muscle over the years but it never hurts to continue to get stronger. Currently has offers from schools like IUPUI, Western Michigan, Incarnate Word. He is a creative and tough guard who showed a little more athleticism and strength at the rim this past season. Cuts to the rim very well and can shoot the ball outside of the perimeter. Very active player that takes advantage and gets a lot of boards because of it. He is the type of player that put in the work and has gotten better over the years. He is better as a 2G but could play as a lead guard from time to time. Expect Vencel to have a breakout year this upcoming season.  </p>
