Down below are some of the 757 point guards in the class of 2021 that should put on a show in their senior campaigns.
Cameron Edmonds- 6’1/Western Branch. Cameron Edmonds has solidified himself as one of the most mature point guards in the 757 regardless of class. Edmonds is no stranger to filling up the stat sheet across the board, even rebounding well for his position. On top of this, Edmonds is a capable shooter with a steady handle and decisive play making ability. The most dynamic aspect of his game as of now is his patience. Edmonds never forces the issue, but rather attacks or passes based on what is ideal in the situation. This ability should potentially lead him to put up even better stats compared to his stellar junior season.
Sterling White Sterling White 5'11" | PG Great Bridge | 2021 State VA – 6’0/Catholic. Sterling White Sterling White 5'11" | PG Great Bridge | 2021 State VA is a 4.0 student who happens to be just as dominant on the court as he is off of it. White was the leader for a solid Catholic High team last year and transitioned into the role of floor general. While most players need time to translate at a different position, White was just fine. White is a confident point guard that you have to stick at all times given his range. Without a doubt, his most dynamic ability is his sharpshooting. His smooth stroke lead him to scoring nearly 40 in a single game while remaining pass first, and will provide a key tool as White continues to round out his game at the point.
Kyjuan Oden- 5’11/Indian River. Kyjuan and his brother Kahlil put on a show this season for their River squad, pulling off an upset on one of the best teams in the state towards the end of the season. Oden provided the much needed spark throughout the year, his scoring and handle proving to be a pain for other teams. Odens most dynamic ability is his quickness. Everything Oden does is lightning fast, from his handle to his shot release. Look for Oden to be one of the leading scorers in the area next season.
Christian Moore Christian Moore 6'1" | CG Cape Henry | 2021 State VA – 6’1/Cape Henry. Christian Moore Christian Moore 6'1" | CG Cape Henry | 2021 State VA was consistently one of the scariest matchups in the 757 last season. With solid size for the point, Moore proved he could be a dynamic two way guard for his very talented Cape Henry team. Moores most dynamic ability to capitalize on next season is his layered scoring ability. Moore can pull up from 30, nail a dribble pull up, net a floater or finish creatively at the basket. Look for Moore to push his way to the top of the point guard pack in the entire state next season.
