Today, we debut our 1st Team All-Northwest District. Please note these are NOT the Top 5 outright players in Northwest Ohio. Rather this is our pick for best positional player in the Region.

PG- [player_tooltip player_id="809622" first="Khalil" last="Luster"] (2022) Lima Senior- While Luster isn’t the tallest player on this list, he exemplifies what we look for in the top point guard in Northwest Ohio. Fast, quick decision maker. He has shown an excellent ability to handle the basketball, using his low center of gravity and quick feet to easily get by defenders.

SG- [player_tooltip player_id="805138" first="Josh" last="Thorbahn"] (2021) Ottoville- Thorbahn combines a physical frame with the typical traits to find in a SG. Nice shooting form and able to get hot quickly. When the shot is taken away, not afraid to put the ball on the floor and get to the rim. Showed a knack for being a leading scorer while also demonstrating a solid leadership ability.

SF- [player_tooltip player_id="918959" first="Jamiya" last="Neal"] (2021) Toledo St. Francis- The SF position was the hardest to pick a 1st Team player. So why was Neal the selection? His athleticism and comfortability being on the wing. A 6’6 lengthy senior, Neal plays above the rim with ease combining his long arms and electric vertical leap. Defensively sound with his length and able to play inside and out.

PF- [player_tooltip player_id="805122" first="Kalen" last="Etzler"] (2021) Convoy Crestview- The top player in NW Ohio, Etzler has already committed to Ohio State and for good reason. At 6’8, he has the size to be one of the tallest players on the floor. Versatile and able to handle the ball for a PF, he is a mismatch and utilizes elite athleticism to be a force on both ends of the floor.

C- [player_tooltip player_id="809640" first="Jagger" last="Landers"] (2022) Antwerp- Some may be surprised by this pick, but Landers’ versatility is why he gets the nod for 1st Team. A brute on the low block, Jagger uses a solid frame to seal off opposing bigs and can finish at the rim with either hands. What is most impressive is his shooting form as he is quite confident shooting the basketball and can get hot very quickly.
