Jason Nelson Jason Nelson 5'8" | PG John Marshall | 2021 State VA | 5’8” | John Marshall
Nelson has one of the best reputations as a floor general in the state as he’s a guy who control the game with the ball in his hands as a guy who create for himself and others both in isolation and within the flow of the offense. He’s a guy who makes great decisions in transition, threads the needle well and sees the way the defense rotates before it happens.
Jaylani Darden Jaylani Darden 6'3" | CG Norview | 2021 State VA | 6’3” | Norview
Darde isn’t a true point guard as he’s more of a utility guard that can play all over but one of his best attributes is his feel and his ability to make good passes at his size. In transition he’s fantastic as he can pitch ahead or attack the defense and make good decisions, he makes good skips against the zone and he’s a great drive and kick guy who uses his ability to score it to draw the defense.
Kobe Jerome Kobe Jerome 6'3" | CG Blue Ridge | 2021 State VA | 6’3” | Blue Ridge
Jerome came to Blue Ridge this year and thrived in his role as the glue guy as he showed the same feel and passing ability as his brother. He has great size as a ball handler, he showed great feel and vision and he’s able to sling around the court with both hands, making passes on the money in a number of different ways.
Jacob Cooper Jacob Cooper 5'9" | PG Green Run | 2021 State VA | 5’9” | Green Run
Cooper is another floor general who was fantastic leading Green Run to the state championship as both their first scoring option and their best playmaker as well. He controls the game with the ball in his hands, he’s a guy who sees the floor extremely well and with his ability to make shots and his crafty driving ability he gets the eyes of the defense
Sterling White Sterling White 5'11" | PG Great Bridge | 2021 State VA | 5’11” | Catholic
White is one of the most under the radar lead guards in the 757 class and he showed great ability to control the game and make others better throughout the year. He takes care of the basketball and makes good decisions, he runs the pick-and-roll well and he’s able to make all the passes out of it as well as make good decisions in transition.
Quentin Slash | 5’8” | Northside
Slash is a guy in the Roanoke area not many people know about the kid did a great job controlling a young and inexperienced Northside team this year and helping them improve throughout the year. He’s a guy who sets the tone on both ends of the floor, he can create on drive-and-kicks and he’s a guy who constantly is putting his teammates in positions to succeed.
Tazir Smith | 6’4” | Colgan
Smith is a guy not many people know about as he just transferred in this season from NYC, and if he gets an opportunity to play AAU ball this summer he’s a guy who could explode onto the scene. He’s a natural athlete at the point guard positions with good size and that allows him to both score it and use his ability to get in the lane and create for others as well. He’s going to be a guy to keep an eye on moving forward.
