Who says there are no post players in Nevada? In this article, we take a look at our top 10 low post scorers in the state.

1. [player_tooltip player_id="787628" first="Jaxon" last="Kohler"] 6’9 PF Coronado 2022 (#2PHN 2022)

Feet: 94

Hands: 92

Post Moves: 90

Finishing: 94

Overall: 92.5

This was a close one between Kohler and Jefferson, however, Kohler is slightly taller and while Jefferson grades out higher in some areas, Kohler’s overall grade won out.

2. [player_tooltip player_id="787643" first="Joshua" last="Jefferson"] 6’7 PF Liberty 2022 (#3PHN 2022)

Feet: 90

Hands: 92

Post Moves: 96

Finishing: 90

Overall: 92

Jefferson and Kohler are clearly the top 2 low post scorers in the state, and I hope I get to watch them battle for the next 2 seasons. Jefferson’s best skill is his post moves, as he has an array of moves that free him for easy looks down low.

3. [player_tooltip player_id="856670" first="Nati" last="AsFaw"] 6’5 PF Del Sol 2020 (#18PHN 2020) (featured image)

Feet: 93

Hands: 88

Post Moves: 86

Finishing: 91

Overall: 89.5

AsFaw has terrific feet and is strong as a bull. He likes to utilize a quick spin move as his main weapon in post-up situations, and he finishes well around the rim through contact.

4. [player_tooltip player_id="859645" first="Michael" last="Klekas"] 6’3 SF Elko 2022 (#10PHN 2022)

Feet: 85

Hands: 88

Post Moves: 91

Finishing: 91

Overall: 88.7

Klekas is the shortest player on the list, however, his low post arsenal is as good as anyones. Most effective move may be his lefty jump hook over his right shoulder.

5. [player_tooltip player_id="925446" first="Kareem" last="Rowe"] 6’6 PF McQueen 2020 (#23PHN 2023)

Feet: 88

Hands: 90

Post Moves: 89

Finishing: 89

Overall: 89

Part of Rowe’s success comes from his sheer will to compete. Outside of [player_tooltip player_id="797129" first="Julian" last="Strawther"] and [player_tooltip player_id="533052" first="Jaden" last="Hardy"], no player was surrounded by more bodies than Rowe. Despite that, he managed to show great concentration and the ability to finish with several players hanging on him.

6. [player_tooltip player_id="925450" first="Dario" last="Domingos"] 6’7 PF Desert Valley Prep (#27PHN 2020)

Feet: 85

Hands: 85

Post Moves: 90

Finishing: 88

Overall: 87

Dario will simply try to bully his opponents when he gets the opportunity. However, the 6’7 Power forward also has good hands and can be nimble enough to squeeze and finish through low post double teams.

7. [player_tooltip player_id="533057" first="Anthony" last="Swift"] 6’7 PF Desert Pines 2021 (#5PHN 2021)

Feet: 83

Hands: 84

Post Moves: 87

Finishing: 89

Overall: 85.7

You could really see Swift’s post-game developing throughout the season. I attribute some of it to knocking off the rust after sitting out all of the previous year. He has a nice turnaround jumper that is extremely effective because of his wingspan and lift.

8. [player_tooltip player_id="856674" first="Kendrick" last="Gilbert"] 6’5 PF Durango 2020 (#15PHN 2020)

Feet: 86

Hands: 84

Post Moves: 85

Finishing: 88

Overall: 85.7

Gilbert is the perfect example of a player that does one thing but does it well. He is going to finish down low while using the rim to shield defenders. The "Human Mikan Drill" averaged nearly 17 per game this year with that exact move.

9. [player_tooltip player_id="927117" first="Jan" last="Madi Ngock"] 6’6 PF Trinity International 2021 (#15PHN 2021) -

Feet: 82

Hands: 83

Post Moves: 85

Finishing: 93

Overall: 85.7

I don’t think JMN has developed into a true post player yet, however, he certainly has the ability to develop into one. He plays well in P&R basketball and has soft enough hands to catch on the move.

10. [player_tooltip player_id="856663" first="Jaylon" last="Lee"] 6’8 PF Arbor View 2020 (#12PHN 2020) -

Feet: 79

Hands: 84

Post Moves: 84

Finishing: 88

Overall: 83.7

Lee has the physical tools. I question his agility and nimbleness, however, he’s so strong and powerful that he certainly is a force when he does catch down low. Right now he is predominately right hand over left shoulder, if he can develop a counter, he has a chance to play for a long time.
