Cort Ballinger Cort Ballinger 5'10" | PG Bishop Manogue | 2021 State NV 5’10 PG Bishop Manogue 2021 (#25PHN 2021) – Ballinger is one of the top defensive players in the state… don’t @ me. The PG has terrific instincts and can impact the game with his defense both on and off the ball. He averaged over 4 steals per game to lead the conference.
Ryan DeRosa 5’6 PG Reno 2021 – I’m not going to lie, I don’t know much about DeRosa. However, the diminutive PG will return as your steals leader in the High Desert. While he didn’t light up the scoreboard on the offensive side of the ball, his defense was stellar. DeRosa had 9 games this season with 3 steals or more.
Avery Strasdin 6’2 SG Churchill County 2021 – Strasdin will probably enter the next edition of my rankings. The 6’2 wing showed off his versatility and two-way ability last season, he averaged almost 4 steals per game to help Churchill County win a dramatic 3A state title game, their second in a row.
Brody Thralls 5’11 PG Incline 2022 – Thralls is one of the catalysts for a good young Incline team. He averaged over 3 steals per game en route to helping them reach the 2A state title game.
Carlos Mora 5’9 PG Jackpot 2021 – Mora has quick hands and good anticipation skills. If it wasn’t for the magnificent defensive play of the states leading thief Collin Killoran, Mora’s 4.3 steals would have been much more noteworthy. As it is he returns as the 1A steals leader.
