Lebo and Madison duked it out all season for top consideration in the entire state, rivaled only by undefeated Berean Academy and St. John. Both of the top teams of the league return an unfair amount of talent.
Here are the top returners to the Lyon County League:
Devan McEwan, junior, Lebo:
The 6-foot-2 junior averaged 18 points per contest as a sophomore, and improved to 19.6 this year. He will lead a loaded Lebo squad next year. The Wolves return nearly everyone who made back-to-back trips to state, including second-team all-stater McEwan.
Chase Harrison, junior, Madison:
Harrison and McEwan had some tremendous battles this year. The 6-foot Harrison has had some huge games this season, including the game winner in the Lyon County League tournament, 25 against Northern Heights, and 29 against Wichita Home School. He averaged 12.0 per game after leading the team in scoring as a freshman.
Drew Stutesman, sophomore, Madison:
Stutesman was a key contributor to the Bulldogs as a freshman, but he took a giant step forward in his second season. He became a go-to guy for the third-rated team in the state, averaging 13.8 points and 7.3 boards en route to second team all-state honors.
Damon Redeker, sophomore, Olpe:
Another sophomore who turned a great freshman season into a breakout campaign. He’s a stat-sheet stuffer and versatile for just 5-foot-11. He raised his average to 12.2 this year and will lead an Eagles team loaded with returners.
Jordan Barnard, junior, Olpe:
The 6-foot Barnard will team with Redeker and sophomore Derek Hoelting to make the Wolves rich with guards next season. Barnard led Olpe with a 12.3 average after leading the team with 10 points as a sophomore.
Trevor Quaney, sophomore, Burlingame:
The 6-foot-6 Quancey will be the leading big in the league next year. He averaged 11.4 points and 9.0 boards after posting 7 and 7 as a freshman.
Others:
Ryan Wolgram, junior, Madison
Andrew Bailey, junior, Lebo;
Landon Grimmett, freshman, Lebo;
Derek Hoelting, sophomore, Olpe;
Brome Rayburn, junior, Madison
