With the AAU season all but wiped out for at least the first part of the spring, prospects and college coaches are lying in wait until they can get back in the gym. Here’s a look at prospects who will be impacted the shutdown and players who programs should flock to when it’s time to resume action…

[player_tooltip player_id="926882" first="Maker" last="Bar"], Ballard and Bradley Beal Elite - Our top ranked prospect in the class, Bar is off the radar as a recruit due to the fact that no one had ever heard of him until last fall. With his length, athleticism and upside (three things coaches love) combined with the platform that Bradley Beal Elite provides, Maker would likely have garnered some attention and possibly his first offers this spring.

[player_tooltip player_id="638847" first="Tim" last="Hall"], Dunbar and Manimal Elite - Hall is possibly the best athlete in the state but his recruiting is about non existent right now. Playing on a loaded Manimal team with two players holding D1 offers already, Hall could have had a chance to join [player_tooltip player_id="692942" first="Christian" last="Spalding"] and [player_tooltip player_id="926883" first="James" last="Jewell"] as 2022 prospects with offers.

[player_tooltip player_id="926884" first="Jordan" last="Akal"], Harlan and M.A.T.T.S. Mustangs 17u - One of the few 2022s who was planning to play up a level on 17u, Akal is known for his ability to score the ball at all three levels but could have had a chance to rack up scholarship offers if he also showed he can be an effective distributor with the ball as the 17u MATTS group has some talented wing scorers.

[player_tooltip player_id="801610" first="Hayden" last="Burgess"], Oldham County and Griffin Elite - The tallest player in the class, Burgess is an off the radar recruit because he was primarily a JV player on a veteran Oldham County team this year. With his elite size and a good skill level, Hayden was likely to catch at least a few coaches eyes this Spring as there just aren’t many 6’10 prospects running around out there.

[player_tooltip player_id="801605" first="Hagan" last="Harrison"], Montgomery County and Louisville Magic - Harrison had a strong Sophomore season in Coach Steve Wright’s first year at the helm and was looking to parlay that success into a solid 16u AAU season. Hagan is more physically mature than most in the 22 class and could have parlayed that ability to get to the rim into some D1 interest this spring.

[player_tooltip player_id="801604" first="Kanye" last="Henderson"], Henry Clay and Charlotte Court - The heir apparent to [player_tooltip player_id="783031" first="Marques" last="Warrick"] at Henry Clay (just my opinion), Kanye is built like Warrick and plays a lot like Marques at the same age. Henderson can score the ball at all three levels and has made strides on defense. If he starts to reach his potential, he can have a Warrick like recruiting bump.

[player_tooltip player_id="926896" first="JiArius" last="Webb"], Owensboro Catholic and Hoop Dreams - If a coach is looking for a long athletic forward, Ji Webb fits that bill to a tee. With his combination of low post scoring and rim protection, JiArius is a growth spurt away from being [player_tooltip player_id="706008" first="JJ" last="Traynor"]. As he stands now, he’s working to improve his shooting and overall skill level but can definitely be attractive to coaches as they start to look at the 2022 class.
