#30 Ja’Mais Wertz | 6’6” | Monacan (#96 Overall)
Wertz is a guy that’s just starting to scratch the surface with his potential and should be someone to keep an eye on moving into his senior season when his role will increase. He’s a big and strong kid that’s surprisingly mobile, he can hit the glass on both ends of the floor and do the dirty work for his team. He’s shown improvement in his ability to stretch the floor and that could be a game changer for him.
#29 Caleb Furr Caleb Furr 6'6" | PF Highland School | 2021 State VA | 6’7” | Highland School (#89 Overall)
There’s a good chance that Furr will shoot up our rankings as time goes on as he has shown great potential moving forward. The 6’7” forward is more of a hybrid forward ho can step out and shoot the basketball and attack off the bounce against slower footed big men. He’s an inside-out guy that causes mismatches with his ability to stretch the floor and work on the perimeter.
#28 Cole Grubbs | 6’7” | James River (#88 Overall)
Grubbs is a guy who has shown potential in the past and starting to reach that potential with continued improvement. He’s a throwback style big man who lives in the paint and scores well with his back to the basket, he competes on the glass and isn’t afraid to get physical and he doesn’t need a ton of plays ran for him. He’s becoming more confident and consistent moving forward and has added more offensive moves to his repertoire.
#27 Luke Triggs Luke Triggs 6'5" | PF Paul VI | 2021 State VA | 6’5” | Paul VI (#87 Overall)
Triggs transferred to PVI this year from Battlefield and was one of a number of players who rotated at their multiple big man positions. He’s an undersized guy but he can create mismatches with his ability to run the floor with the guards, make shots from the midrange area and he’s a blue collar worker. If he was at a smaller school he likely would produce much more.
#26 Josh Morse Josh Morse 6'6" | PF Albemarle | 2021 State VA | 6’6” | Albemarle (#83 Overall)
Morse was a breakout guy in the Charlottesville area that filled in at Albemarle in their next guy up system. The 6’6” big man is very skilled for his size with the ability to step out and make shots from deep, he can rebound on both ends and he can score on the block as well. His ability to play inside-out and his rapid improvement will have college coaches very happy when they watch him.
#25 Tyler Coleman Tyler Coleman 6'6" | PF Paul VI | 2021 State VA | 6’6” | Paul VI (#77 Overall)
Coleman was another one of the rotation players for PVI and was arguably one of their most consistent post players. He isn’t a true post as he’s more of a versatile guy that can switch and guard multiple positions, is a good athlete that plays with a motor and can get up and down and play fast. He was named an Honorable Mention selection for the All WCAC teams.
#24 Jaheim Niblett Jaheim Niblett 6'5" | PF Martinsville | 2021 State VA | 6’5” | Martinsville (#75 Overall)
A gem in the central VA area, Niblett is a big bodied post player that can be very productive when he plays with a high motor. He’s a bruising big man that attacks the glass on both ends, protects the paint and is surprisingly agile for his size. He works well from 15 feet and in and still has room to improve moving forward.
#23 Peter Oduro Peter Oduro 6'7" | PF VA Academy | 2022 State VA | 6’7” | Osbourn Park (#73 Overall)
Oduro transferred from Battlefield to Osbourn Park this year and was one of the top bigs in the Northern VA area. The younger brother of George Mason commit Josh Oduro, he has similar features in his ability to be a mismatch with his mix of size and skill set. He’s a guy who can face up or score with his back to the basket, he’s a good passer and he can stretch the floor as well.
#22 Whit Williams Whit Williams 6'7" | PF Benedictine | 2021 State VA | 6’7” | Benedictine (#71 Overall)
Williams is a guy who reclassified at Benedictine this year and had a great year showing when he was able to stay on the floor. A skilled and athletic 6’8” big, Williams can stretch the floor, he rebounds and finishes well around the basket and he protects the rim as well. He’s starting to reach his potential and looks like he could be a late bloomer moving forward.
#21 Jayson Harris Jayson Harris 6'6" | PF Menchville | 2021 State VA | 6’6” | Menchville (#57 Overall)
Harris may not have gotten the same amount of love as Menchville’s talented backcourt but he’s a guy that should be a scholarship level player moving forward. He’s a bruising big man that has soft touch over the shoulder, he can hit the glass on both ends of the floor and uses his physicality to own the paint as well. He’s a little undersized as a five man but he is very productive for the most part.
