The Conference Review – South Suburban

The South Suburban Conference was one by the Lighting from Eastview. Here are the All League names as well as who met expectations and who did not. The Final Standings (with the NHR Prediction) One - Eastview (3), Shakopee (2), and Prior Lake (1) Four - Lakeville South (4) and Lakeville North (5) Six - Farmington (9), Rosemount (10), and Eagan (7) Nine - Burnsville (8) and Apple Valley (6) The Review At the Top – Eastview, Shakopee, and Prior Lake finished in a tie at the top with the Sabers being 3rd in the final AAAA rankings, Lightning 4th, and Prior Lake 10th. Eastview and Shakopee split their games this year but Shakopee won the most recent meeting putting them higher in the final rankings. The Surprise – That would be Rosemount. The Irish won 11 games which is about 6-7 more than I thought they would win coming into the season. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id="796947" first="Caleb" last="Siwek"] scored 20 a game while junior Nolan Loehr put up a dozen a game leading the team to a strong year. What Happened? I feel like calling out the many that called me out in the preseason but I will go half adult and just throw out that a different team, Apple Valley, did not have the year I thought they would by a couple games. Apple Valley did win eight games though so it wasn’t like a last place team in other leagues. Postseason All Northwest Suburban Conference ***This is a first for the post-season. The South Suburban provides their own first and second team all league which we will use. They also have an All Defensive Team that we are happy to show as well. We of course added our third, fourth, and fifth squads.
