The solid 6-foot-7, 215-pound forward was actually huge for the Mustangs and their success as the anchor in the middle on both sides of the floor. Ingalls is now pondering his college future while also looking back on his senior season with a lot of pride.
“It was awesome to be a part of the first varsity team to ever make the playoffs,” Ingalls said. “It was an amazing feeling and I couldn’t have thought of anything better than that.”
On an individual note, Ingalls certainly got the job done. The First Team All-Metro League selection will likely be among the state’s 6A leaders in rebounding once again and overall he felt he improved in other aspects of his game. “I got stronger in the post and definitely with finishing around the rim,” Ingalls said. “My defensive game got better as well.”
In addition to making the playoffs, Mountainside was able to win their first post-season with a victory over Tualatin before bowing out in the Sweet 16 to West Linn. Now that the season has completed, Ingalls is looking forward to playing at the next level. He indicated that he’s been in the most contact with Linfield and Chapman University in California and he’s hoping to continue those conversations.
“I’m looking to play at a D-III school,” Ingalls said. “I’m going to take some visits to the schools and talk to the coaches and everything and see what’s best for me.”
As Ingalls sorts out his college recruitment, he continues to look back on this past season and the memories that will last a lifetime. “We had a lot of fun this senior year,” Ingalls said. “It’s crazy to think about that this was the last season, but we put it all out on the court.”
Ingalls currently ranks as the #53 player in the PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2020 rankings.
